As we reflect on the global and personal turmoil God's saints have been experiencing in recent times, we need to recognize God's sovereign rule. The preparation of believers as the "virtuous wife of Christ" draws primarily from Proverbs 31:10-31, the books of Ruth and Esther, as well as various teachings focusing on the fear of the Lord. True virtue, strength, and worth come only from God and are developed through faith, obedience, humility, and reverent fear—not fear of punishment but instead fear of being unfaithful to God's calling. The book of Esther does not explicitly mention God's name but demonstrates how God works providentially through those who trust Him, honor authority rightly, and wait on Him. God's chosen saints are being shaped through trials into vessels of honor, complementing, complimenting, and glorify Christ, living by faith, trembling at God's word, striving not to tarnish His holiness as they prepare for their future role with Him as His betrothed Bride and devoted Spouse.
