Teach Your Children

Sermonette by Bill Cherry

God's Word provides clear guidance on teaching our children to develop godly traits that lead them into His Kingdom. We are called to love the LORD our God with all our heart, soul, and strength, and to keep His words in our hearts. This passion for God must be the foundation of our lives, guiding our conduct and filling us with the joy of obeying His laws. As we live out this love, we have something precious to pass on to our children—our example of righteous living, our knowledge of the Scriptures, and our confidence, faith, and love to guide them. God commands us to teach His words diligently to our children, speaking of them when we sit in our house, walk by the way, lie down, and rise up. This teaching requires perseverance, consistency, and planning, with set times and places for instruction. It should be purposeful and brief, especially for young children, using Bible verses and stories to illustrate how God's Word applies to their lives. Teaching is a planned activity, ensuring that every day we share God's Word as a source of life, direction, and happiness. Beyond formal teaching, we must engage in constant conversation with our children, listening to their hearts and minds during everyday moments. Whether sitting, walking, or working together, these casual interactions allow us to understand them deeply and guide them with examples from Scripture when appropriate. Spending time with them, especially teenagers, counters the negative influences of the world and provides opportunities to instill God's principles. If we diligently teach our children about the greatness of God's Kingdom and show them the joy of applying His laws, they will not be turned off by His Word. Our example must be genuine, free of hypocrisy, demonstrating love and care as we prioritize them over distractions. As parents, we have a unique opportunity to teach our children the love of God and the knowledge of His Word, showing them the happiness that comes from living His way and building a wall of faith to protect them from the selfishness and false ideas of this world.

Forms vs. Spirituality (Part 4)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

The yoke grievous to bear (Acts 15:10) was not God's law, but an entire package of Pharisaic regulations that had been elevated to the level of God's law.

The Unleavened Sinless Life!

Sermon by Martin G. Collins

Like with Joseph, trials and troubles have been preplanned by God to shape us into members of His family, predestined to be sanctified and glorified.

Prepare for Your Future Now

We have been base and ignoble, but Christ has enabled us to be cleaned up and transformed or shaped into offspring of God to be joint heirs with Christ.
