Lessons from Elijah's Work
Sermonette by Richard T. RitenbaughElijah the prophet was known as the Tishbite. He lived on the east bank of the Jordan River. God used Elijah mightily to predict a drought. Elijah raised a boy from the dead. With a whack of his cloak Elijah divided the River Jordan just like Moses had done. Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal. Elijah ran almost 20 miles from Mount Carmel to the gates of Jezreel. Elijah journeyed to Horeb which is Mount Sinai. He went into the cave that was the actual cave that Moses was hidden in when God went by. Only one person before this had done a fast for 40 days and 40 nights and that was Moses and he had been sustained by God as well.
