Why Preach the Gospel to the World?

CGG Weekly by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Jesus Christ declares in the Olivet Prophecy that this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. The preaching of the gospel serves as a testimony, providing evidence about who God is, what His standards are, what He is doing, and what is coming to fulfill His purpose. Through this witness, God ensures that humanity will have no excuse when He brings destruction on this world for its manifold sins and establishes His Kingdom in its aftermath. The gospel, as a warning message of repentance, calls people to turn from sin because God's Kingdom is at hand, aligning with the urgency and purpose of this testimony to the world.

'You Are My Witnesses...'

Article by Martin G. Collins

The real value of a witness depends upon the faithfulness and truth of his testimony. A witness is one who sees an event and can report it to others. In the context of God's plan, He grants to His Two Witnesses the privilege and strength to proclaim the truth they are commissioned to communicate as His witnesses to mankind. They publicly preach or maintain the truth before the world as God has revealed it. God promises protection to those who obey Him, according to His will, and decides how each of us represents Him. As part of God's witness protection, if anyone wants to harm the Two Witnesses, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies, showing that not a hair of our head is affected without His approval. As the Church, we are collectively and individually witnesses of God's way of life. We testify for God through our works, demonstrating that our God is God. Good works glorify Him if we are reliable and accurate witnesses of His way. Witnessing is not a spare-time occupation but a quality of life; we do not go witnessing, we are witnesses. Our actions and deeds write a sermon each day, reflecting the gospel according to us, whether false or true, as others observe and read what we live.
