Fall Feast Lessons
Sermon by John W. RitenbaughThe fall holy days are deeply connected to the judgment of God, revealing various aspects of His decrees and sentences across these sacred times. The Feast of Trumpets marks the beginning of significant judgments, where mankind will come to know that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of men, as shown in Daniel 4:17. This judgment will be severe, with great carnage and pain as God establishes His rule, potentially decimating the earth's population to a mere fraction during the fulfillment of these events. In Daniel, God's judgments are evident as He overrules human decrees, such as with Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4:24-25, driving him to live among beasts until he acknowledges God's sovereignty. Similarly, in Daniel 5:24-26, Belteshazzar's kingdom is numbered and finished by God's decree for failing to heed past lessons. These accounts underscore that God's counsel stands above all human plans, as affirmed in Proverbs 19:21 and Psalm 33:8-15, where He brings the plans of nations to nothing and fashions hearts individually to fulfill His purpose. At the sounding of the seventh trumpet, as described in Revelation 11:15-18, the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ, initiating a time of judgment on the nations, rewarding His servants, and destroying those who destroy the earth. This period also signals a shift in judgment as depicted in Revelation 14:7 and 14:17-20, where the hour of His judgment arrives with a harvest of the earth, resulting in gruesome consequences for those not aligned with Him. Isaiah 27:12-13 portrays a gentle judgment at the blowing of the great trumpet, where God gathers the children of Israel one by one, separating and purifying them from the nations with care, acknowledging their broken state after tribulation. Furthermore, Isaiah 2:4 and Zechariah 14:16 reveal God's judgment during the Millennium, where He judges between nations, leading to peace, and compels all remaining nations to worship Him at the Feast of Tabernacles. The judgment extends to the binding of the adversary in Revelation 20:1-3, a necessary decree to prevent deception of the nations, facilitating reconciliation with God. This act is crucial for atonement to become a reality. During the Day of Atonement and the Jubilee, as outlined in Leviticus 25:8-13, liberty is proclaimed, and possessions are restored, symbolizing freedom from bondage and a return to rightful inheritance under God's rule. God's judgments also encompass a process of reconciliation across nations and peoples, as seen in Jeremiah 30:3-11 and Romans 11:25-26, where He gathers Israel and Judah back to their land, redeeming them as a shepherd keeps his flock. This re-gathering serves as a means to bring all nations into at-one-ment with Him, fulfilling a broader plan of restoration and unity under His sovereign judgment.
Are the Blood Moons Significant? (Part Two)
CGG Weekly by David C. GrabbeScripture makes evident that signs in the heavens, especially the sun and the moon going dark, are linked with times of judgment. The Sixth Seal includes that darkening, and it is the beginning of God's judgment on those persecuting His people. The book of Joel contains three mentions of the sun, moon, and stars being darkened as precursors to God's wrath. Isaiah 13 foretells the heavenly lights being darkened as part of God's judgment on Babylon. Ezekiel 32 contains God's judgment concerning Egypt, linking the darkening of the heavens with the light of the whole nation being extinguished by God.
God's Will in the End Time
Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Richard T. RitenbaughGod gathers all nations and brings them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. He enters into judgment with them there on account of His people and His heritage Israel. He proclaims among the nations to prepare for war and to wake up the mighty men. He lets all the men of war draw near. He causes the nations to be awakened and to come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There He sits to judge all the surrounding nations. The harvest is ripe and the winepress is full because their wickedness is great. Multitudes stand in the valley of decision. The day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon grow dark and the stars diminish their brightness. The LORD roars from Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem. The heavens and earth shake. The day of the LORD comes and spoil is divided in the midst of Jerusalem. He gathers all the nations to battle against Jerusalem. The city is taken, the houses are rifled, and the women are ravished. Half of the city goes into captivity. The remnant of the people is not cut off from the city. Then the LORD goes forth and fights against those nations as He fights in the day of battle. His feet stand on the Mount of Olives which faces Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives is split in two from east to west. The LORD strikes all the people who fought against Jerusalem with a plague. Their flesh dissolves while they stand on their feet. Their eyes dissolve in their sockets and their tongues dissolve in their mouths. A great panic from the LORD is among them. Everyone seizes the hand of his neighbor and raises his hand against his neighbor. The wealth of all the surrounding nations is gathered together. The nations rage and the people plot a vain thing. The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Anointed. They say let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us. He who sits in the heavens laughs. The LORD holds them in derision. Then He speaks to them in His wrath and distresses them in His deep displeasure. Yet He has set His King on His holy hill of Zion. The LORD has said to His King that He is His Son. He tells Him to ask and He will give Him the nations for His inheritance and the ends of the earth for His possession. He shall break them with a rod of iron. He shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.
