Living Up to Our Responsibilities

Sermonette by Mark Schindler

God has entrusted each of us with responsibilities within His end-time church, preparing us as the last wave of firstfruits for service with Jesus Christ. If we fail to fulfill these duties, we create a void that impacts the entire Body of Christ, causing pain and suffering that lingers longer than necessary. Our individual shortcomings can hinder the spiritual and physical well-being of the whole church, as God uses these challenges to build character and urge us toward holiness. Our primary responsibility is not to preach the gospel to the world or alter the teachings given through God's chosen apostle, but to become holy as God is holy, forming a united Body of Christ. Lay members are called to support the apostles through prayers, encouragement, tithes, and offerings, while adhering to the established pattern of instruction. God has raised up the church as the training ground for developing holy, righteous character, qualifying us to sit with Christ on His throne. We must strive to overcome and separate from the sins of this world, following God's commands precisely as delivered through His chosen servant. The failure of one member to adhere to these responsibilities can bring suffering to the entire body, as seen in historical accounts where God's judgment fell upon His people for individual transgressions. We are accountable for one another, acting as keepers and protectors within the Body of Christ. God expects us to examine ourselves daily, ensuring we do not partake in the accursed things that weaken our effectiveness. Our fervent prayers and commitment to holiness directly impact the health of the church, both spiritually and physically. To whom much is given, much is required, and we must show the same sacrificial love for one another that God has shown us through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. By recommitting to holiness and fulfilling our responsibilities, we align with God's purpose and contribute to the healing of the body as He has promised.
