Godly judgment forms a central responsibility for the saints in the Kingdom of God. Scripture reveals that resurrected believers will judge the world and angels, receiving thrones and dominion as kings and priests who reign with Christ. This role requires more than legal appointment; it demands preparation through a life of active sanctification that replicates the character of Jesus Christ. The process begins with oneness with the Son, as the saints become members of His body, the bride joined to Him, participating in His judgments, rule, and priestly service. Disciples therefore undergo rigorous training to prove worthy of these positions. They must present themselves approved to God by diligently studying and rightly dividing His Word, applying its principles to every situation with the same precision required of any judge. At the same time they cultivate unimpeachable character, cleansing themselves from all dishonor so that they remain holy, impartial, and free from partiality or corruption. These qualifications exceed any human standard. Godly judges base every decision on divine law rather than appearance, seeking only the will of the Father. Through continual renewal of mind and practice of righteousness, they become vessels prepared for every good work, fit to exercise the authority entrusted to them when Christ returns.
