The Wearing Out of the Saints
Sermon by John O. ReidThere is a great pressure, a wearing that the end of the year puts on us, with holidays adding to the strain that society places on each one of us. In Daniel 7:25-27, we read about the wearing out of the saints, which is certainly taking place. Though we may be worn out, in the end, we win, and we must hold onto this thought through the coming years. Our nation's direction is wearing out the saints and changing the foundation of the nation where we were raised, contributing to a world that seems insane. Satan has failed to defeat God and now aims to destroy His work, targeting our minds. In I Thessalonians 5, Paul provides a list of duties to sustain us during this time of wearing out when it heavily comes upon us. We must be fervent in prayer and study, proving what we believe to stand firm against false teachings and societal pressures. Our goal is to strive for what Paul teaches, enduring whatever comes at us to receive the crown that God has for us.
