Squandering Opportunity
CGG Weekly by Richard T. RitenbaughIf, by the grace of God, circumstance, or sheer fortune, we find ourselves in a position to make significant progress in our character growth, spiritual knowledge, or service to others, we must be vigilant not to let such moments slip away. The next opportunity, if it arises, may not be so readily within reach. Spiritually, we can lose as much through neglect as through outright rejection. Therefore, seize the opportunities that present themselves to help, to serve, and to grow, for they may never come our way again.
Do You Feel Lucky?
Article by Mike FordWe all have the opportunity to make something of our lives, though death and misfortune eventually happen to us all. Time represents opportunity, and chance refers to occurrence or incident, shaping the events we encounter. While random events affect everyone, it is not luck or chance that governs our existence; God remains in control at all times, guiding and protecting us. We must seize opportunities with planning, prudence, and a recognition of Divine providence. By planning, we prepare and organize for the future, much like the ant that works diligently without a ruler. Prudence calls us to be wise, cautious, and discerning, carefully considering matters as they arise to make sound decisions. Above all, we must acknowledge God's care and control, for without Him, our efforts are in vain. Through humility and reverent fear of the Lord, we find riches, honor, and life, living prosperously in happiness, health, and purpose under His guidance.

The Faithfulness of God (Part One)
Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)We have been given a precious opportunity to be here and to participate in the unfolding of God's plan. This opportunity is not by chance but by divine election, as God has personally chosen each of us, just as He elected Jacob before his birth, based solely on His own will. We are urged to make the most of every moment, to submit ourselves to God's will with unwavering zeal and earnest effort, recognizing the urgency of the time we live in. Our presence here is a result of God's miraculous work, akin to the birth of Isaac, ensuring that we are part of a separated group, hand-picked to be spiritual Israel, distinct from the children of the flesh. This opportunity carries with it the responsibility to understand and live by God's will, to build a personal relationship with Him through constant conversation and meditation, strengthening our trust in His faithfulness. As individuals within the body of the church, we are treasures to God, each a special jewel of great value, loved and cared for with particular attention, and called by name to respond to His personal invitation. Therefore, we must charge forward with energy and zeal, taking advantage of the knowledge and time we have been given, to prepare for what lies ahead and to be found faithful by Him.
