How Prepared Are You?
Many Disasters and One Disaster
John W. Ritenbaugh
Commentary; #1158c; 12 minutes
John Ritenbaugh, focusing on Deuteronomy 28, the "curses chapter," coupled with a recent article in the Whistleblower magazine, declares that mental health is in jeopardy in America. Stress is driving people to self-destruction as never before. Suicide has surpassed deaths by car accidents and combat. Young adults, supposedly in the peak of health, suffer from chronic stress, keeping them up at night. From 2003 to 2012, 4,797 murders were committed in Chicago, more than double the fatalities for the similar time-period resulting from the war in Afghanistan. Juxtaposed to this grim statistic was a true account in a documentary, The Impossible, in which a Spanish family, against all odds, survived the tsunami in Thailand which killed 230,000 people. As we prepare for the coming disasters befalling our nation resulting from cracks in our national character, it behooves us to get our physical and spiritual families in order.
