Psalm 8: What Is Man?
Ted E. Bowling
Sermonette; #FT18-04s; 14 minutes
Ted Bowling, focusing on Psalm 8, marvels along with David about the majesty of God's Creation and the seeming insignificance of man in its vastness. Mankind, having been created in God's image, possessing a modicum of God-like abilities, has the awesome potential to grow into Christ's image, with His mind, and to receive an inheritance as members of God's Family. All that, though, requires submitting to God and following the lead of the Forerunner, Jesus Christ. Part of the process required for preparing us for the massive responsibilities of ruling and teaching in God's Kingdom entails our being subjected to rigorous testing. As we go through inevitable trials in our spiritual journey, we should take comfort in Psalm 8's message: The Creator of the universe has our backs, keeping us under close observation and unfailing protection throughout our sanctification.
