God's existence is proven through His authoritative declarations and fulfilled prophecies, such as the destruction of Tyre by Nebuchadnezzar and Alexander the Great, demonstrating His power over nations across centuries. Creation itself stands as evidence, with the origin of life, matter, and natural laws necessitating a Creator, the First Cause. The intricate design of the universe, human mind, DNA, symbiotic relationships like clownfish and anemone, and birds' flight capabilities reveal a Supreme Intelligence. The precision of cosmic cycles, sustenance of life, and complexity of living food further confirm a purposeful Designer. These wonders, from vast galaxies to tiny molecules, showcase God's greatness, power, and ongoing involvement in creation.

The Proof of the Bible

Herbert W. Armstrong Booklet

Regarding the existence and proofs of God, there is One quoted as speaking with great authority, declaring, I am God, and pronouncing dire fates upon the mighty city of Tyre. He foretold that many nations would come against Tyre like waves of the sea, one after the other, destroying its walls, breaking down its towers, and scraping its debris into the Mediterranean, leaving it as a bare rock. He specifically named Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, as the first to attack, detailing how He would bring destruction with horses, chariots, and warriors, entering the gates and slaying the people. Following Nebuchadnezzar, other nations were prophesied to continue the assault, fulfilling the complete destruction by casting the city's remains into the sea. This One's ability to predict and bring to pass such specific events over centuries challenges whether a mere human could make such pronouncements and see them realized. The fulfillment began with Nebuchadnezzar's 13-year siege, demolishing the mainland city, and continued with Alexander the Great, who later used the debris of Old Tyre to build a causeway, turning the island into a peninsula and conquering New Tyre. These events, spanning centuries, stand as evidence of the authority and power of the One who spoke, raising the question of whether He can similarly pronounce and execute judgments on modern nations as He did on ancient Tyre.

Seeing God in Creation (Part Two)

Sermonette by Ronny H. Graham

Two theories try to deny the Creator God: the Big Bang Theory and Darwin's theory of the Origin of the Species. We can deduce God's presence from His creation.

Does God Exist?

Herbert W. Armstrong Booklet

Can the existence of God be scientifically proved? Is it rational to believe in God, or is He merely a myth, an invention of an ignorant, superstitious past? There are two possibilities of origins: special creation by a Creator, God, and the theory of evolution. While evolution has gained popular acceptance in science and higher education, there remain those who cling to belief in the existence of God. Many believe what they do simply because they were taught it or because it is accepted in their social environment, without examination or proof. I found proof of the existence of the Creator, God. Creation itself is the proof of God. He who brought everything into existence, including all matter, force, energy, and life, who set natural laws in motion, He is God, superior to all else called God. Science has determined through the study of radioactivity that matter has not always existed. Radioactive elements like uranium and radium disintegrate over time into lead, proving there was a time when these elements did not exist. This necessitates a special and instantaneous creation by some Power or Someone, a Great First Cause, which is the Creator, God. Life comes only from life, as demonstrated by scientific findings. Life cannot arise from dead matter, and each kind reproduces only after its kind. This law of biogenesis confirms that life on earth required a real creation by the great original First Cause, God, who is life and the fountain source of all life. One cannot rationally deny the existence of God unless they can account for the origin of life without a Creator who, Himself, is Life. The human mind, capable of thought, reason, and creation, cannot produce anything superior to itself. To believe that something less intelligent than the human mind produced humanity is irrational. The presence of the human mind is proof of a Supreme Intelligence, infinitely superior to mortal abilities, as the First Great Cause and Architect of the universe. The intricate design of the cosmic universe, with its planets, suns, and galaxies, could not have been planned and set in motion by a power lacking even human intelligence. The miracle of living food further reveals this Supreme Intelligence. No human, with all their science and ingenuity, can produce food from inorganic matter or replicate the process by which plants convert elements from the ground into organic sustenance. This process, too wonderful for any human mind to imitate, points to a far greater Intelligence than man, who designed, created, and supplied these needs. Comparing human intelligence to that of God, who brought these marvels into being, shows the vast disparity. The perfection of God's creation, like the grain of wheat, stands in contrast to human attempts to alter it, often resulting in depletion and harm. The precision of the universe, the Master Clock in the heavens that never errs, further proves the existence of a Great Watchmaker, a Master Mind who planned and set each heavenly body in its exact place and orbit. To deny this intelligent design and creation is to ignore the rational evidence of an all-wise, all-knowing, all-powerful Creator, God.

Psalms: Book Four (Part Four): God as Creator

Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

The wonders of the night sky, weather patterns, DNA, plants, animals, and human abilities all point to the mind, power, design, and creativity of God. These intricate elements of creation could not have originated by chance, as there is far too much detail and harmony in the world for it to be a cosmic accident. Everything functions with precision, and the rare abilities of countless creatures demonstrate a purposeful design that works together seamlessly. Consider the symbiosis between clownfish and sea anemone. The clownfish is immune to the anemone's poison, finding refuge among its deadly tentacles. Such a relationship could not have evolved through trial and error, as the first clownfish would not have survived to pass on this trait. This points to a deliberate design by a Creator who instilled this immunity from the beginning. The intricate design of birds further reveals this truth. Their lightweight yet strong bones, multifaceted feathers, unique lung system, lightweight beaks, and highly developed brains all integrate perfectly to enable flight. If any single feature were absent or different, flight would be impossible. These features had to be created simultaneously, indicating a Designer who crafted birds with precision and purpose. The complexity of DNA also bears witness to this Creator. These tiny molecular strands contain vast amounts of information, far surpassing any man-made data storage system. DNA not only duplicates itself constantly but also self-corrects errors through enzymes, showcasing an astonishing system that could not have arisen by chance. Even the vastness of space and the cycles of nature, such as the circulation of water from hills to seas and back to clouds, demonstrate ongoing sustenance by a Creator. He causes grass to grow, trees to flourish, and animals to thrive, actively maintaining creation in the present. The placement of the sun and moon establishes cycles that benefit mankind, allowing animals to feed at night while humans work by day, showing how all things are designed to work together for good. Creation's dependence on God is evident, as He sustains life by providing food and breath to all creatures. His power is not only creative but also capable of destruction, reminding us to revere Him. The abundance of life in the seas, with countless varieties of creatures both small and great, reflects a Creator who thinks in terms of vastness and skill, crafting everything with wisdom to enhance life. Through all these marvels, from the smallest molecule to the expanse of the heavens, we see the handiwork of God. His creation reveals His greatness, power, and intimate involvement, compelling us to acknowledge Him as the Creator who upholds all things with purpose and design.

God Works in Mysterious Ways (Part Three)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

God's existence is evident through the creation He has made, as His invisible attributes, eternal power, and divine nature are clearly seen and understood by what has been fashioned, leaving mankind without excuse for denying Him. This revelation occurs not through direct sight but through thoughtful observation of the earth and its purposeful design, which demonstrates logical progression from raw condition to prepared habitation. God began with the earth in disorder and methodically shaped it according to a predetermined plan, culminating in the declaration to form man in His image, thereby revealing both His intent to reproduce Himself and the structured care invested in the work. Such evidence counters claims that no plan or purpose exists, for the creation itself testifies to deliberate action rather than whim or accident. Those who assume God does not exist or is uninvolved do so without proof, relying instead on carnal inclinations that prioritize the present and resist submission to His sovereignty. Scripture affirms that God has always operated in this manner, withholding immediate visible answers to maintain the conditions under which faith and character are developed, yet He supplies sufficient witness through what He has built to establish His reality. Mankind's tendency to call Him into account for this obscurity stems from inflated self-opinion, but the creation stands as enduring testimony that He exists, rules, and acts with coherent purpose.

Are Humans Becoming More Intelligent? (Part Four)

Commentary by Martin G. Collins

God created the world in a way that reflects divine wisdom, a pattern discernible to those who seek after it, so that wisdom itself must begin with acknowledgment of and reverence for God as its source. This wisdom is imprinted throughout creation, as the apostle Paul declares in Romans 1:18-21 that all who refuse to acknowledge the testimony of God's existence and power are without excuse. The Bible therefore presents the creation with images of knowledge and wisdom, as in Job 38 where the voice from the whirlwind uses the order and power of creation to demonstrate God's superior knowledge and power. From beginning to end only the God who created the creatures of the earth can sustain and control them, and the creation itself declares knowledge to which humans have had access since Adam and Eve. Mankind's designs and inventions frequently draw inspiration from this creation through biomimicry based on animal and human biology, capitalizing on nature's efficiency in areas such as robotics modeled on an elephant's trunk, durable materials derived from deer antlers, adhesives and climbing mechanisms taken from gecko feet and eyes, curved digital cameras patterned after the human eye, and radio chips that replicate the cochlea. These examples illustrate how God's intricate design of humans and animals supplies the foundation for all accumulated knowledge and technology. As culture departs from a biblical understanding of the world, wisdom likewise departs, and when inventions are not used to glorify God the result is destruction because human knowledge tends toward more efficient means of harming others. The inspired written Word of God alone makes sense of science and technology, yet secular efforts to divorce science from God amount to suppression of the truth plainly revealed in creation, leaving humanity without excuse as stated in Romans 1:18-22. According to the Bible, man has always possessed intelligence thanks to God's creation of human beings, though today's greater accumulation of knowledge and technology originated in the mind of God; without divine intervention mankind would destroy itself with the misuse of that knowledge.

Are Humans Becoming More Intelligent? (Part Three)

Commentary by Martin G. Collins

Believing that God created the universe leads to regarding the visible world as the achievement of an intelligent being who carefully thought out and prepared it in advance. Genesis 1 displays this through elaborate patterns in which God first creates three settings of light, sky and sea, and dry land with vegetation, then fills them in matching order with light bearers, birds and sea creatures, and land animals and people. The effect resembles an artist filling a canvas, achieved through specific acts of ordering expressed in verbs such as made, separated, and placed. The account follows a fixed daily pattern, and the division into days itself imparts an orderly quality. God's miraculous creativity then yields to biological generation, as plants yield seed, fruit trees bear fruit containing seed, waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and the creation receives the command to be fruitful, multiply, and fill the seas and earth. This same creative order supplies ongoing proofs of God's existence through the variety and abundance of what He has made. Psalm 104 describes the sea teeming with innumerable things, while Psalm 8 notes that mankind has been given dominion over the works of God's hands. Because God formed these things, He also granted the capacity to learn from them and devise practical solutions to human problems. Scientists therefore draw designs from birds' nanostructures that produce color without pigment, from bird skulls that combine lightness with strength, from the kingfisher's beak that shapes efficient train noses, from the swift's wing-folding flight for micro-aircraft, and from bats' ultrasonic navigation for canes and solar-powered surveillance devices. Creation thus overflows with signs of God's wisdom and power. Yet those who employ these designs credit nature rather than Him, recalling the Lord's question in Numbers 14:11 about how long people will reject Him despite all the signs performed among them. Man's enmity renders him blind to the evidence that God's attributes are clearly displayed in what He has made.

Psalm Genres (Part Seven): Trust

Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Nature from micro to macro provides more than enough proof to conclude that God exists. Creation has clearly revealed God's invisible attributes. A beautiful sunset shows that all these things cannot have evolved just by chance on this beautiful earth. God is known as Creator and Designer and the First of everything. He made all of these things come to pass. Nature provides proof that a greater higher supreme Power exists that made all of these things and also crafted the purpose and the means by which eternal life is possible.
