Wisdom is far more than knowledge, experience, or good judgment; it is the God-given skill of living according to His will. Rooted in the biblical concepts of hokmah and sophia, true wisdom is both a practical ability and a spiritual gift, first illustrated in Scripture through divinely inspired craftsmanship for God's service. It is perfected not by knowledge alone but by faithfully applying God's instruction in everyday life, walking as Christ walked. The wisdom psalms present this truth through practical guidance, contrasting the blessings of righteousness with the consequences of wickedness. Psalms 128 and 112 reveal that those who fear God by obeying His commandments reflect His own character, enjoy blessings that extend from the individual to the family, community, and nation, and ultimately receive the enduring reward of eternal life. In contrast, the path of rebellion ends in judgment and the final eradication of evil. Together these passages present wisdom as the practical expression of reverence for God, leading believers to lives of righteousness now and everlasting life in His Kingdom.
