The Scepter of the Kingdom of God (Part Two)

CGG Weekly by Martin G. Collins

God's scepter promise, given to the tribe of Judah in Genesis 49:10, descended through the royal house of David until the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon cut off the direct male line. The breach between the two sons of Judah, Pharez and Zerah, was healed when God removed the crown of David from the ruling line of Pharez and placed it on a descendant of Zerah. In 569 BC, an elderly patriarch, identified as Jeremiah, arrived in Ireland with a Hebrew princess named Tea Tephi, a daughter of King Zedekiah of Judah, and a prince, the son of the King of Ireland, who was a descendant of Zerah. This prince, named Herremon upon ascending his father's throne, married Tea Tephi, a descendant of Pharez, uniting the lines. Their son, ruling over Israelites, marked the healing of the ancient breach. This dynasty continued unbroken through the kings of Ireland, was transplanted to Scotland in AD 487 with King Fergus I, and later to England in AD 1603 with James VI of Scotland crowned as James I of England, a line that persists today.
