Other Zerahites settled down in Ireland after residing for a time in Spain where they founded the city of Saragossa literally the City of Zerah. President Biden takes the matter personally as a staunch Irish nationalist with Irish-Catholic roots. Northern Ireland encouraged the president to pressure the prime minister on the issue. The British government believes the protocol undermines its national sovereignty over Northern Ireland. The resulting tensions have exposed cracks in relations between the brother nations.
