The Holy Spirit

Sermonette by David C. Grabbe

God's Holy Spirit typically refers to the mind of God and Christ, which is added to our human spirit to create a sound mind by which we witness of God.

What Is the Holy Spirit?

'Ready Answer' by David C. Grabbe

The Holy Spirit imparts understanding by enhancing our minds with the essence of God's incredible mind, enabling us to know the things of God, what He has prepared for us, and the things given to us. It is through receiving the mind of Christ that we gain spiritual understanding, allowing us to comprehend what the world cannot. As we yield to God's Spirit, our minds become sound, disciplined, and self-controlled, operating in a way often incomprehensible to those influenced by the spirit of the world. This Spirit, the same that motivates Jesus Christ, imparts spiritual knowledge and wisdom, inclining us to think as God thinks and to live as He lives. The more we yield to and make use of God's Spirit, the more He gives, shaping His character image in us and enabling us to reflect His glory to the world through our lives.

The Holy Spirit and the Trinity (Part Five)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

The Holy Spirit imparts understanding by acting as the essence of God's mind, enabling us to grasp spiritual truths and align with His will. Through the Spirit of the Lord, the mind of God and the mind of Christ are placed within us, facilitating our conversion and transformation. God actively participates in this process, putting His laws into our hearts and writing them in our minds, a supernatural act of His creativity. By His Spirit, He triggers thoughts, inspires, enables, and empowers us, shaping us as the Potter shapes the clay into the image He desires for His Kingdom. Revelation and understanding come as a result of God's activity, as He projects His thoughts into our minds, making us aware of choices and responsibilities we previously did not consider. He prepares and enables specific individuals to respond to His call, opening their minds to recognize Jesus as the Christ and to receive the essence of His mind, character, and morals. Without this divine intervention, we would remain unaware and unresponsive to His truth. The Holy Spirit, residing in us, represents the presence of the Father and the Son, not as physical entities within us, but as the essence of Their mind influencing our thoughts and actions through words and personal experiences with God. This Spirit provides the power to submit to God's will and to keep His law in spirit, not just in letter, empowering us to worship Him in spirit and truth. Through this process, God ensures that we grow in His image, enhancing our relationship with Him and with our brethren.

The Holy Spirit

Bible Study by Martin G. Collins

The Holy Spirit imparts understanding by opening our minds to the mysteries of God's truth, which are vital to our salvation. Through divine revelation, the Spirit enables us to discern and comprehend what cannot be grasped by human reason or intelligence alone. God's Spirit also imparts wisdom, teaching His way of life and aiding us in our spiritual growth. Even in our prayers, when we struggle to express ourselves, the Spirit helps us make our requests before God. As we are led by the Spirit, it produces in us the fruit of the Spirit, evidencing a sound mind and empowering us to overcome our sins.
