The Lord commanded Moses to have Aaron stretch out his rod, turning the dust of the land into lice that afflicted man and beast throughout Egypt. Then, as Egypt remained unyielding, He sent swarms of flies, followed by locusts that devastated their crops. These pestilences, while not life-threatening, brought misery and repulsion, making the Egyptians feel as though their skin crawled with torment.

This unique bond heightens the severity of His judgment due to their failure to walk in agreement with Him.
