From a biblical perspective, pedophilia, though not explicitly named in Scripture, is condemned under the seventh commandment, "You shall not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14), which encompasses all illicit sexual acts, including sexual relations with minors as fornication. This sin violates the sanctity of marriage and family, crucial to character development, and defiles both individuals and community. Biblical penalties for sexual sins, such as death for certain abominations (Leviticus 20:13) and rape (Deuteronomy 22:25-27), suggest a child-molester would face death, while the victim is spared punishment. Such severe, public punishments, rooted in the eye-for-an-eye principle (Exodus 21:23-25), aimed to deter sinful behavior, contrasting with modern leniency.

Deterrence

CGG Weekly by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

The pedophilia scandal has exposed significant moral and ethical failures within the Catholic hierarchy. Though the Bible does not explicitly mention pedophilia, the seventh commandment, "You shall not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14), encompasses this perversion, as it does other sexual sins. Sexual relations with a minor outside of marriage constitute fornication, a sin addressed in numerous biblical verses. Regarding the penalty, while pedophilia is not directly referenced, guidance can be drawn from laws concerning fornication and homosexuality. Leviticus 20:13 prescribes death for certain sexual abominations, and in cases of rape where the victim's cries could not be heard, only the perpetrator was put to death (Deuteronomy 22:25-27). By extension, a child-molester would face death, while the traumatized victim would not be punished. However, such a penalty, rooted in the eye-for-an-eye principle (Exodus 21:23-25) to ensure punishment fits the crime, contrasts sharply with modern societal views that deem it harsh and barbaric. Despite this, the biblical approach aimed to deter criminal and sinful behavior through consistent, public, and fitting punishments, unlike the varied and often delayed sentences of current systems.

Semantics

CGG Weekly by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Semantics plays a crucial role in shaping perceptions, often obscuring the true nature of certain behaviors through the careful choice of words. In the context of sexual misconduct, the term pedophilia, which generally means sexual activity between an adult and a child, is often used. However, a more precise term, pederasty, refers specifically to sexual relations between a man and a boy, typically involving anal intercourse with the boy as the passive partner. The broader term pedophilia is more socially acceptable, while pederasty highlights a specific practice that some powerful groups may wish to avoid associating with their public image. Words carry significant weight, as they influence thought and belief, ultimately shaping behaviors. Therefore, it is essential to discern the real meanings behind the labels used in media and public discourse.

The Sexual Floodgate Is Open!

Commentary by Martin G. Collins

Satan's evil plan to destroy families continues through the rise of degenerate sexual immorality, including pedophilia. Pedophiles, driven by a strong, almost irresistible desire to sexually assault and rape children, are seeking status similar to other sexual orientations, using tactics akin to those of gay rights activists. According to Dr. Mace Knapp, a Nevada State Prison Psychologist, the average pedophile molests 260 victims in a lifetime, with 400,000 registered sex offenders in the United States, and an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 of them missing. Psychiatrists are now advocating for redefining pedophilia, mirroring the redefinition of homosexuality by the American Psychiatric Association in 1973. In 1998, the APA issued a report claiming the negative potential of adult sex with children was overstated, a claim contradicted by statistics. A group of psychiatrists and the pedophilia-advocacy group B4U-Act recently proposed a new definition of pedophilia for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders, renaming pedophiles as "minor-attracted persons" to encourage tolerance. B4U-Act focuses on the needs of pedophiles with little regard for the mental health and physical safety of children. Pedophilia has been granted protected status under the U.S. government's Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which lists sexual orientation as a protected class without defining the term, thus allowing its application to various deviancies. An amendment to exclude pedophilia from this protection was defeated by Democrats, with Representative Alcee Hastings stating that all alternative sexual lifestyles should be protected under the law. Pedophile rights are linked to the gay rights movement, with arguments from some activists claiming an adult's desire for children is normative and that consent from a child is unnecessary. This perverse worldview is not fringe but represents a popular demonic perspective, with reports of child-sex rings involving national leaders worldwide. Pedophilia is described as a violent, mentally devastating, and dehumanizing act of hate, aligning with sinful characteristics destined for destruction.

Purifying the Heart

CGG Weekly by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

In the midst of a society that has seen a rapid moral decline since the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s, the door has been opened to various forms of sexual perversion. Among the emerging issues on the agenda of the ultra-progressive Left is what they term pedophilia, though it is more accurately described as pederasty. This push represents yet another rebellion against the moral standards set forth in the seventh of the Ten Commandments, which prohibits adultery and encompasses all illicit sexual activity that violates the sanctity of sexual purity. Such perversions are seen as abominations that defile not only the individuals involved but also the broader community.

The Seventh Commandment

Bible Study by Martin G. Collins

The Creator God gave the seventh commandment, You shall not commit adultery, to protect the honor and sanctity of marriage. Since marriage and family are crucial to character development, God does not tolerate their defilement. Within marriage, sex is fully sanctioned by God, but outside of it, its practice causes great harm. In principle, this commandment covers all forms of illicit sex, including pedophilia, which violates the sacred trust and purity intended for human relationships.

Putting It In Perspective

CGG Weekly by David C. Grabbe

The issue of pedophilia, often misreported as a general term, reveals a deeper bias in media coverage. A recent report shows that since the 1950s, approximately 1.5 percent of Catholic priests have been accused of child sexual abuse, a figure far lower than the public perception of frequent abuse by priests, as 64 percent of the public believe according to a Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey. Penn State professor Philip Jenkins found that between 0.2 and 1.7 percent of priests are pedophiles, while the rate among Protestant clergy is higher, ranging between 2 and 3 percent. Despite this, Catholic priests remain the primary focus of media scrutiny. Further examination reveals that nearly all priest-related abuse involves homosexual acts with adolescent boys, not prepubescent children, a distinction often ignored by the media. Dr. Thomas Plante from Santa Clara University noted that 80 to 90 percent of priests who abuse minors target adolescent boys. Data from the Boston Globe and USA Today corroborate this, showing that over 85 to 95 percent of victims in clergy abuse cases are male. The correct term for such acts is pederasty, yet the media persists in using the broader term pedophilia, obscuring the specific nature of the abuse. Beyond clergy, sexual abuse by teachers is alarmingly prevalent, with a rate approaching 5 percent in New York City schools, where at least one child is abused daily by a school employee. Studies indicate that over 60 percent of accused employees in these schools are reassigned to desk jobs within the system, and 40 percent of those transferred are repeat offenders. Despite these staggering figures, the media continues to spotlight Catholic priests while downplaying abuse in other sectors, revealing a selective narrative in reporting.

Sodom, Here We Come

CGG Weekly by Charles Whitaker

The push to legitimize same-sex marriage opens the door to even more extreme behaviors, including the disturbing proposal to legalize pedophilia. If a teenage girl no longer requires parental permission for an abortion, it raises the question of how close society is to legally approving intercourse between an adult and a consenting teenage boy. Mary Eberstadt highlights that the taboo against pedophilia is weakening, evidenced by the existence of activist groups like the North American Man/Boy Love Association, with offices in San Francisco and New York. Their website features scientific papers supporting pedophilia, legal updates, a prisoner support program, poetry, links to related sites, and testimonials from minors. The organization also publishes a newsletter, books, and sponsors conferences. This erosion of moral barriers illustrates the dangerous consequences of crossing ethical lines, leading to the potential acceptance of even the most unspeakable deviant practices in society.

Divorce and Remarriage

Sermon/Bible Study by John W. Ritenbaugh

In the discussion of divorce and remarriage, the term 'fornication' as used by Jesus Christ encompasses a broad range of sexual sins, including pedophilia. This term, translated from the Greek 'porneia,' covers various illicit sexual perversions beyond just pre-marital sex or adultery. Pedophilia, a grave sexual sin involving children, is considered among these perversions. It raises serious concerns about the suitability of a person with such a history for marriage, as it represents a profound violation of trust and moral conduct. Jesus Christ's use of 'fornication' suggests a wider liberality in reasons for divorce, potentially including such abhorrent behaviors as pedophilia, which can be committed by either sex against a child, as a valid ground for ending a marriage.

Overlooking Evil

Commentary by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

America has descended into the cesspool of immorality in its entertainment as well as in its highest political circles, surpassing the surrounding nations.

The Seventh Commandment

'Personal' from John W. Ritenbaugh

Within the spirit of the seventh commandment, numerous sexual sins are encompassed, including the grave and psychologically destructive acts of pedophilia. This sin, far more common than many would like to believe, adds to the enormous tally of sexual deviancies alongside adultery. The numbers are beyond comprehension, reflecting a seething pit of evil deliberately promoted by the twisted mind of satan.

The Seventh Commandment: Adultery

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

Within the scope of the spirit of the seventh commandment, which prohibits adultery, are numerous other sexual sins that plague society. Among these are the creepy, lecherous, and psychologically destructive sexual attacks against weak and innocent children. These acts, along with other sexual transgressions, contribute to an enormous burden of sin beyond comprehension. Such behaviors are part of a seething snake pit of evil, deliberately promoted by the twisted mind of satan, reflecting a deep national sin of faithlessness and deceit that permeates personal and societal relationships.

What's So Bad About Babylon? (2003) (Part 1)

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

Babylon, as a worldwide anti-God system, exerts a powerful and seductive influence, drawing individuals into its web of sin through luxury, pride, and the avoidance of suffering. This combination fosters an environment ripe for perverse sexual behaviors, including pedophilia, which runs rampant alongside other forms of sexual perversity such as pornography, homosexuality, lesbianism, and bestiality. The prevalence of these conditions in modern Israel mirrors the historical patterns of Babylon, creating a deadly trap that lures individuals into faithlessness. This environment is particularly dangerous for church members, as it fosters Laodiceanism, a spiritual harlotry characterized by distraction, complacency, and a refusal to suffer for principle, thus blinding individuals to their spiritual responsibilities. God commands us to come out of Babylon spiritually, resisting its anti-God image, for it is an enemy that must be faced individually within a system that cannot be escaped physically.

Where Are the Children?

Sermon by Ronny H. Graham

In our current society, deception runs rampant, orchestrated by satan, and it manifests in deeply disturbing ways, including the scourge of human trafficking, specifically child trafficking or sex trafficking. This evil, as highlighted by Tim Ballard, founder of Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), has exploded into a $150 billion annual enterprise, surpassing illegal arms trade and potentially the drug trade. It is the fastest-growing criminal enterprise worldwide, with over 40 million people enslaved globally, many of them children exploited in the most heinous ways. These traffickers, highly organized, target vulnerable children in areas struck by natural disasters or war, such as Haiti or Ukraine, preying on the homeless and hungry with false promises, only to exploit them further. O.U.R. has rescued thousands of children, sometimes infiltrating operations to save hundreds at once, yet the demand for this atrocity is highest in the United States, reaching even the highest levels of government. This pervasive evil underscores a profound societal failure to protect the innocent, aligning with the broader agenda of deception and destruction of identity that satan promotes.

Mightier Than the Sword (Part Ten)

Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)

Jeremy Bentham, a key figure among the humanistic philosophers, strongly advocated for open homosexuality and pedophilia in his work titled "Offenses Against One's Self," authored in 1785 but not published until 1931 due to its offensive content. Despite the Bible's clear teachings against such practices, Bentham refused to recognize any moral difference between heterosexual and homosexual activities, viewing them as equal under his utilitarian ethical theory, which prioritizes actions that produce the most pleasure or happiness for the greatest number of people. This perspective, lacking any absolute standards, was further propagated by his disciple John Stuart Mill, who was raised according to Bentham's system, spreading these ideas through his own conduct and teachings. The spirit of Bentham and Mill has since swept across many nations, influencing societal views on morality and ethics.

It Was Bound to Happen

Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)

The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is sanctioning a sexual revolution that will culminate in the legalization and whole-hearted support of transgenderism, while also supporting the legalization of pedophilia. In this country, we are on a path toward allowing and even encouraging sex with children, as the last taboo is being eliminated.

Are You Being Brainwashed? (Part 4)

Sermon by Martin G. Collins

There is a conscious, organized effort to deceive society in every area of life through the Six-Step Attitudinal Change Plan, a tool used by Globalist planners to transform the world into accepting a satanic Globalist Communitarian way of life. This plan brainwashes the masses into embracing perverted desires, including the acceptance of pedophilia among other societal ills. Through subtle and insidious manipulation, often via media and propaganda, attitudes and values are being silently changed to align with these destructive ideologies.

The Century of the Child

'Prophecy Watch' by Martin G. Collins

In the documentary "The Lost Children of Rockdale County," aired on Public Broadcasting's Frontline, a disturbing picture of child behavior emerges from Conyers, Georgia, where an outbreak of syphilis among teenagers revealed deep-rooted issues in family dynamics. In 1996, health officials identified six teenage girls, four under 16, at the center of this outbreak, engaging in complex sexual relations with multiple partners, often in group settings fueled by drugs and alcohol. These encounters occurred in homes where parents were absent for the evening, highlighting a severe lack of supervision. The teens involved showed little remorse or shame, often laughing and joking about their situation during health office visits. Their parents, grappling with disbelief and denial, expressed frustration and powerlessness in controlling their children. Many parents, consumed by demanding jobs and frequent travel, provided material needs and cash but failed to oversee their teens' activities. Interviews revealed a profound disconnect, with parents admitting they had lost control, unable to enforce discipline or influence their children positively. A father of one of the girls acknowledged the inevitability of sexual activity among teens, resigned to hoping that instilled values would eventually guide them, despite relinquishing active guidance. Professor Robert Blum from the University of Minnesota emphasized that such events are not rare but disturbingly common across the United States, pointing to the failure of adults to adopt authoritative parenting. He stressed the need for clear boundaries and consistent consequences, underscoring that adolescents require guidance and a concerned adult network prioritizing their upbringing. The reality in Rockdale County, as Blum noted, is not just lost children but lost parents, still clueless even after public exposure and community discussions.
