Sexual immorality, including homosexuality and pedophilia, defiles the sacred marriage covenant established by God between one man and one woman, as seen in the union of Adam and Eve. Such acts are perverse and unwholesome, with fornicators facing God's judgment, as stated by Paul in Hebrews 13:4. The acceptance of homosexuality and the push to redefine pedophilia as mere attraction to minors disregard the natural created order and endanger societal stability. Redefining marriage beyond the lifelong bond of husband and wife threatens the foundation of civilization, signaling potential national decline. This erosion, fueled by demonic worldviews, opens doors to further perversions, violating the honorable nature of marriage.

The Sexual Floodgate Is Open!

Commentary by Martin G. Collins

The flood gates of degenerate sexual immorality have been opened, as Satan's evil plan to destroy families continues to be executed. Using tactics similar to those of gay rights activists, pedophiles are seeking status by arguing that their desire for children is a sexual orientation akin to heterosexuality or homosexuality. Pedophiles exhibit a strong, almost irresistible urge to sexually assault and rape children. Critics have long predicted that accepting homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle would lead to no limits on sexual behavior, a prediction now echoed as psychiatrists advocate redefining pedophilia, mirroring the reclassification of homosexuality in 1973 by the American Psychiatric Association. A group of psychiatrists and the pedophilia-advocacy group B4U-Act recently proposed a new definition of pedophilia, renaming it as attraction to minors and focusing on reducing stigma rather than protecting children, showing no regard for their mental health and physical safety. Shockingly, pedophilia has been granted protected status by the U.S. government under the Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which lists sexual orientation as a protected class without defining the term, thus applying to any sexual deviancy. Gay activists argue that an adult's desire to have sex with children is normative, that psychiatrists should prioritize the needs of pedophiles over social control, and that children can be objects of attraction without needing consent. This abject evil is not merely a fringe element but represents a popular demonic worldview. The Federal ruling on same-sex marriage has further opened the door to all sexual lifestyles, regardless of their evil nature, with predictions of legalizing additional perversions, including pedophilia and bestiality. Pedophilia is seen as a violent, mentally devastating, and dehumanizing act of hate, forbidden as it violates the natural created order of sexual union between a husband and wife.

In Defense of Marriage

CGG Weekly by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

From a biblical perspective, marriage is humanity's founding institution, established by God when He united Adam and Eve as husband and wife. Their union became the bedrock of human civilization, and stable societies have always cherished the one-man-one-woman lifelong bond. The apostle Paul writes in Hebrews 13:4 that marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. The term fornicators covers all sexual immorality, including homosexuality, which has no place in godly marriage. Using Paul's language, such behavior is defiling, thus perverse, base, and unwholesome. As divorce and promiscuity have become commonplace, and homosexuality increasingly accepted, the demeaning of the marriage covenant signals societal decline. If marriage is redefined to include combinations other than one man and one woman, it could mark the death-knell of the nation, as no society has endured far beyond such a change.

The Nones, Atheism, and Immorality

Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)

The Nones, a significant and eclectic group of Americans, hold strong ideological opposition to Christianity, and by extension, to the Creator God of the Bible. As a body of citizens, they have embraced a liberal agenda, actively supporting issues such as abortion, women's rights, and the homosexual agenda. Their stance reflects a rejection of traditional moral standards, such as the 10 Commandments, which have historically served as a foundation for civic conduct in this nation. Instead, they align with a perspective that lacks a counterbalancing code of morality, as evidenced by their actions and the monuments they erect, which stand in contrast to the moral principles endorsed by the nation's founders.

America's Number One Addiction

Commentary by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Pornography destroys intimacy and objectifies the sexual partner; it turns sex into a mechanical, self-gratifying act, destroying real, wholesome love.

Sacredness Of Marriage

Sermonette by James Beaubelle

The time of God's wrath upon this world draws closer with each passing day, as the social order that once considered God is turned upside down. A clear example is the sacredness of marriage, now being replaced by new values that sanction fornication of men with men and women with women under the guise of civil marriage, hiding its wickedness. God is not caught off guard by this, but He is disgusted with it. In Romans 1, Paul describes this generation, where men suppress the truth in unrighteousness, moving from seeking God's will to gross idolatry and vile passions. Romans 1:24-27 states that God gave them up to uncleanness and lusts, with women exchanging natural use for what is against nature, and men burning in lust for one another, committing shameful acts and receiving due penalty. Romans 1:28-32 further notes that God gave them over to a debased mind, filled with all unrighteousness, including sexual immorality, wickedness, and approval of such practices, deserving of death. Marriage and family, foundational to any healthy society, are being destroyed, preparing for a foundation of unrighteousness. God defined marriage as a joining of one man and one woman, as seen in Genesis 2:24, where two become one flesh. Any changes to this divine structure are an affront to God and His plan, representing man's rebellion against his Creator. Many today profess to be wise but have become fools, suppressing the truth, as Paul warned. Christ, in Matthew 5 and Matthew 19:4-6, taught that marriage is permanent, binding until death or broken by moral abandonment such as adultery, emphasizing that what God has joined together, let not man separate. The seventh commandment forbids adultery, standing against defiling the marriage covenant through sexual sins. Adultery, an act of unfaithfulness, is a profound betrayal and a sin against one's own flesh, as Paul teaches in I Corinthians 6:18. Christ declared in Matthew 5 that it originates in the heart, encompassing any sexual desire or behavior outside marriage as sin. This sin destroys marriages from within, and few recover from such entanglement. The tenth commandment, in Deuteronomy 5:21, defends against coveting a neighbor's spouse, protecting marriage from external threats. Even if desire does not lead to action, it is sin and condemned by God, often leading to further sins like adultery and destruction of families, as seen in the case of King David with Bathsheba. Hebrews 13:4 calls for marriage to be honored by all and kept undefiled. As the world sinks lower in its regard for marriage and family, resembling the days of Noah, let God's children hold fast to the sacredness of marriage within His creative purpose and plan.

Divorce and Remarriage

Sermon/Bible Study by John W. Ritenbaugh

Any given doctrine must be built layer by layer, combining and comparing scriptures rather than allowing a single scripture to determine the doctrine. When we understand that porneia includes all the hideous perverted sexual sins that go beyond ordinary adultery- including bestiality, pedophilia, homosexuality, incest, and every other imaginable sexual perversion, we understand that Jesus gave a greater latitude and flexibility in these divorce decisions than we had earlier assumed (based exclusively upon adulterous 'fraud'). Any violence against the marriage contract (stemming from unconversion) would constitute grounds for divorce, and would permit the converted partner to remarry. Mutual access to the tree of life (God's Holy Spirit) gives marriage the best (actually the only) chance to succeed.

Our Ultimate Purpose (Part Three)

Sermonette by Austin Del Castillo

In our society today, relationships have often become self-serving in deeply disappointing ways. Adultery, once seemingly more common among men in earlier decades, has shifted with the sexual revolution and feminist ideology, leading to a perception that women may now engage in it more frequently. The internet and apps like Tinder facilitate extramarital connections, making infidelity easier as spouses offer excuses for late nights or absences, whether through supposed business meetings or social outings. When confronted, unfaithful partners often employ gaslighting, manipulating the faithful spouse into feeling at fault, dismissing the betrayal as insignificant, and showing no true repentance. This behavior starkly contrasts with the kind of relationship Jesus Christ seeks with His future wife. Many women in society today exhibit attitudes far from what He desires, prioritizing material wealth and status over genuine connection, openly declaring themselves as the ultimate prize while dismissing men who do not meet exorbitant financial standards. Jesus Christ would not be interested in such a mate for eternity. In contrast, He has historically viewed Israel as an unfaithful wife, pained by their idolatry and disrespect, as seen in scriptures where He describes their harlotry and issues a certificate of divorce to backsliding Israel, while noting Judah's similar treachery. Despite this, He expresses a willingness to forgive and bless, though their hearts remain far from Him, honoring Him only with lips and not with true devotion. Jesus Christ looks to the Israel of God, called by the Father, to be a faithful and honoring mate, seeking a closeness that transcends human understanding of becoming one flesh. This intimacy, akin to the deepest human connection between husband and wife as intended by God, reflects emotional desire, support, and mutual growth. He seeks a virtuous wife, as described in Proverbs, not swayed by modern ideologies of independence or entitlement, but one who embodies obedience and intimate closeness to Him as our ultimate purpose.
