Bestiality is one of the perversions that follows once society abandons the natural created order of sexual union between husband and wife. After homosexuality was redefined as an orientation and same-sex marriage was legalized, the door opened to every sexual lifestyle, however evil. Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay warned that the nation is on a fast track to legalizing a dozen new perversions, bestiality and polygamy among them, along with pedophilia, and that this is coming like a tidal wave. The same pattern of renaming and redefining deviancy, and of protecting it under vaguely defined "sexual orientation" laws, serves to normalize it. God forbids such sexual sin because sexual union belongs only between a husband and wife and is never proper with anyone else. Scripture lists the immoral and perverted among those who will not share in God's kingdom (1 Corinthians 6:9) and who face the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8). Believers are therefore urged to watch their children and pray daily for God's protection against this advancing wickedness, which is part of Satan's plan to destroy families.

Bestiality is one of the sexual sins forbidden by the seventh commandment. "You shall not commit adultery" is not limited to sex outside marriage; God commands abstinence from all sexual immorality, including fornication, homosexuality, incest, voyeurism, bestiality, public nudity, and much more (see Leviticus 18 and 20). Like the other sex sins, bestiality violates God's holy purpose for sex, which is meant to be honored, pure, and exclusive within a marriage that pictures Christ's union with the church. God does not take such sin lightly. He struck down twenty-three thousand Israelites in one day for sex sins and destroyed five cities by fire for aberrant sex practices. Those who persist in sexual immorality without repentance will not inherit the Kingdom of God and face the Lake of Fire. A world that has downgraded perversions to "personal sexual expressions" has lost its understanding of this commandment, but what was once shameful is still despicable to God. Yet anyone who has committed sex sins can repent, be forgiven, washed, and sanctified through Christ, and must stop feeding the sin and avoid temptation.

The seventh commandment, "You shall not commit adultery," protects the honor and sanctity of marriage, and in principle it covers all forms of illicit sex, bestiality among them, together with fornication, homosexuality and pedophilia. God fully sanctions sex within marriage, but its practice outside marriage causes great harm. Marriage and the family are the means by which people learn to conduct proper relationships, both with other people and with God. Because the institution is so important to character development, God does not tolerate its defilement, and bestiality falls under that prohibition.

Bestiality is one of several sexual sins, along with incest, pederasty, pedophilia, homosexuality, and lesbianism, that English can name specifically but Greek could not. Greek had the specific word moicheuo only for adultery, so every other sexual sin, bestiality included, fell under the general term porneia, the word Jesus used in Matthew 19 and the King James Version renders "fornication." Modern translations usually render it "sexual immorality." Because porneia covers every illicit or perverted sexual practice, an English reader can tell which sin is meant only from the context. Several of these sins are named directly in the Bible. Since Jesus chose porneia, His exception allowing divorce with remarriage is not limited to premarital sex or adultery but reaches the whole range of sexual perversion, bestiality among them. He was therefore more liberal on divorce than His words first appear.

Bestiality is one of the horrible sexual crimes that bear fruit when lusts simmering within a decadent society are drawn to the surface by pornography. Sexual perversions grow out of the heart, as Jesus taught in Mark 7:21-23, and James 1:14-15 describes how desire, once conceived, gives birth to sin and then death. Bestiality belongs with adultery, homosexuality, rape, child molestation, and incest. Pornography degrades what God created in His image and brings man, made a little lower than the angels, down to the level of animals. Bestiality is a direct violation of God's law, emphatically forbidden in Scripture (Leviticus 18:23; Deuteronomy 27:21). God warns that nations practicing such sexual abominations defile the land, and the land will vomit out its inhabitants (Leviticus 18:24-28). Those who commit these abominations are to be cut off from their people (Leviticus 18:29). Like all pornography and lewdness, such perversion is rooted in idolatry and humanism, the worship of the human body and mind, and God gives those who persist in it over to a debased mind (Romans 1:24, 28).
