God describes modern-day Israel in latter-day prophecies as residing at the coasts or coastlands and in the isles, with additional references to locations in the north and west of the Middle East. This language appears in passages such as Isaiah 49:1 and 12, which call the coastlands to listen and note the return of people from afar, the north, and the west, as well as Jeremiah 31:10, which addresses the isles afar off in connection with the gathering of scattered Israel. These terms align with God's earlier vision, spoken through Balaam in Numbers 23:9, of Israel as a people dwelling alone and not reckoning itself among the nations, a separation fulfilled geographically when He placed Ephraim and Manasseh on islands such as those of Britain and in the New World, insulated by vast oceans. The same prophecies portray Joseph as a fruitful bough whose branches run over the wall, indicating an inclination to extend influence beyond these divinely set coastal and insular boundaries through cultural, economic, or military means. Such extension occurs when Manasseh, in particular, shifts from isolationism to internationalism, abandoning the restraint that kept America within her walls during the era of Manifest Destiny and instead intervening in the affairs of other nations. This development connects directly to God's orchestration of globalism in the last days, as the wealth and power granted to Ephraim and Manasseh enable them to lead movements that integrate the world, fulfilling the pattern of Babel's rebellion while advancing His plan despite Israel's forgetfulness of Him.

God directs attention to the coastlands through end-time prophecies that locate the scattered house of Israel. Jeremiah 31:10 instructs the nations to declare the message in the isles afar off, announcing that the One who scattered Israel will also gather him. Isaiah 49:1, 3 addresses the coastlands directly, identifying Israel as the servant in whom God will be glorified, while Isaiah 41:1, 8-9 reinforces the same call to peoples from afar. These passages establish that the bulk of ten-tribed Israel, headed by Ephraim, must inhabit islands and coastlands distant from Jerusalem. Such a location rules out Mediterranean nations, which lie near rather than afar. Combined with earlier directions that Israel would dwell primarily north and west of Jerusalem, the coastlands point to a sea power in the North Sea region. This identification aligns with additional markers that Israel would rank among the chief of the nations and would colonize other lands through population growth and prosperity. Only Britain satisfies every criterion, placing the descendants of Joseph on the islands and coastlands specified in the prophecies.

People of Manasseh moved from England to the coastlands of Jamestown in AD 1607. Others followed to the coastlands of the New World and founded additional colonies that eventually numbered thirteen. These colonies grew into independence from England by the end of the 1700s, and the early Manassite settlers together with their descendants formed the great peoples of the early United States of America. Over time the United States expanded into the single nation God promised would descend from Jacob. Through Moses God had prophesied that Joseph would push the peoples to the end of the earth. America fulfilled this role by moving west, past the Appalachians, across the Mississippi, over the Rockies, and beyond the Pacific to the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, the Philippine Islands, and the Japanese Islands. In doing so the nation developed a thalassocracy whose naval power enforced economic interests as far as the Arabian Desert and established a greater military presence there than Solomon ever possessed. The vast resources of the land God provided enabled the folk of Manasseh to build a rich and powerful nation that exceeds the scope of Solomon's kingdom in many measures. These blessings align with Moses' words concerning the precious things of heaven, the deep, the fruits of the sun, the produce of the months, the ancient mountains, the everlasting hills, and the fullness of the earth. God bestowed the birthright upon Joseph because he remained separate from his brothers in faithfulness. Modern Ephraim and Manasseh, however, have used the wealth and influence granted because of that faithfulness to push upon Gentile nations a way of life contrary to God's way, advancing globalism rather than separating from the world as their father Joseph did.
