Where Is Cancel Culture Headed?

'WorldWatch' by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Cancel culture, though a modern term, reflects a long-standing practice of punishing individuals or entities for violating social norms through banishment, exile, or blacklisting. Today's American version mirrors systems like Communist China's social credit score, where government and corporations monitor and enforce conformity to approved ideas, denying basic rights to those who dissent. In the United States, a fascistic alliance of the political Left and mega-corporations, including tech giants like Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Amazon, censors non-Leftist voices by labeling posts as false, terminating accounts, or shutting down entire platforms like Parler.com over ideological disagreements. This extends beyond social media, as seen in the cancellation of Senator Josh Hawley's book and events for contesting political outcomes. Under current laws, these corporate actions face no legal restraint, allowing tech companies to restrict content deemed objectionable. The goal appears to be a society where public discourse is limited to a narrow, tolerated range of thought, silencing any ideas that challenge the accepted boundaries.

Modesty (Part Two): Put On Righteousness

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Martin G. Collins

Debate

Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)
