Who Fulfills the Azazel Goat— Satan or Christ? (Part Three)

'Ready Answer' by David C. Grabbe

Jesus Christ, in His profound sacrifice, fulfilled the dual roles of the sacrificial goats on the Day of Atonement, as described in Leviticus 16. He died to provide a covering of blood, opening the way to the Father, and bore the sins of many, carrying them to the land of forgetfulness, the grave. By Himself, He purged our sins, as stated in Hebrews 1:3, and sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, signifying the completion of His work. His sacrifice alone is sufficient to cancel and bring sin to nothing for those who repent and come under His blood, as emphasized in Hebrews 9:26-28. Through His offering, He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified, ensuring that their sins and lawless deeds are remembered no more, as declared in Hebrews 10:17-18. There is no longer an offering for sin, for remission has already been accomplished through Him. His work stands complete, not reliant on any future act or additional being to resolve human transgression.

He faithfully works to prepare us for His Kingdom, aligning perfectly with the purpose of the Father, even to the extent of giving His life to ensure no deviation from this divine intent.
