From Dust to Dust

CGG Weekly by John Reiss

Knowing that God formed humanity from the dust of the ground reminds us of our fragility. In Genesis 2:7, the LORD God shaped man from the dust and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, making him a living being. Like the animals, we share the same earthy composition, and Ecclesiastes 3:19 states that the fate of humans and animals is the same: as one dies, so dies the other, both having the same breath, with no advantage for humans over animals, for both are fleeting. When we pass from this life, our bodies return to the dust, as Ecclesiastes 12:7 conveys, while we sleep in death, awaiting the promise of resurrection. Isaiah 26:19 offers hope, declaring that the dead shall live, and those who dwell in dust shall awake and sing, as the earth casts out the dead. Though our mortal lives proceed from dust to dust, there is assurance in God's plan for new life beyond this frail existence.

God's Plan and the False Immortal Soul Doctrine

'Ready Answer' by Craig Sablich

Worldly Christianity's Doctrine of the Immortal Soul, unsupported in Scripture, fails the litmus test of God's Plan, in which eternal life is God's gift.

The Immortal Soul and the Plan of God

Sermonette by Craig Sablich

Nominal Christianity is grounded in the belief that man has an immortal soul, a doctrine that contradicts the Bible and the plan of God for mankind.

Heaven Must Wait

Sermon/Bible Study by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Going to heaven is not scriptural. The soul is not immortal; it is equivalent to life. Mankind does not have a soul; he is a soul, subject to death.
