God's Non-Transmittable Attributes (Part One): Omnipotence
Bible Study by Martin G. CollinsGod the Father, Almighty, is characterized by His non-transmittable attributes, which set Him wholly apart from all creation. He is self-existent, self-sufficient, and eternal, having no origin, needs, or changes, and answering to no one. His majesty and holiness are expressed through His omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience, qualities He alone possesses. As the Almighty, He reigns sovereign over the universe and beyond, with all power and authority originating from Him. He has the power to fulfill His plans without fail, and with Him, all things are possible. Though His omnipotence is not the ability to do anything contrary to His nature, He carries out the will of His perfect, divine nature without constraints. There is nothing too hard for Him, as He is the all-powerful Creator who made the heavens and the earth, lifting up the isles as a very little thing, with infinite power to accomplish whatever He pleases.
