Parables of the Millstone and the Lost Sheep

Bible Study by Martin G. Collins

In addressing the value of those who stray, Jesus illustrates the profound joy felt when something lost is recovered. A shepherd rejoices more over the recovery of one sheep that had wandered away than over all that remained with him. Similarly, God takes great joy when a person who has gone astray from His truth returns to His way of life. This demonstrates why we should not despise weaker Christians, for their return brings immense gladness to God, surpassing even the joy for those who never strayed. God's desire is for all to have salvation according to His joyful plan, yet He finds the greatest joy in those who overcome the odds to grow and return.
