Power Belongs to God (Part Two)

'Personal' from John W. Ritenbaugh

We must recognize that Satan's powers, though formidable, are strictly limited by God. As a magnificent and mighty being with innate abilities far beyond any fleshly creation, satan possesses significant strength, as seen in passages like Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. However, his power is not unlimited. According to Job 1:6-12, satan operates only within the boundaries God has set, having only the power God created in him and the latitude to use it as God permits for His purposes. Despite the horrible events on earth that might suggest otherwise, satan's influence is always under God's sovereign control, meted out to accomplish what God desires.

Power Belongs to God (Part 2)

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

God's power is supreme and all-encompassing, extending over every aspect of creation, including the authority and influence of satan. The scriptures reveal that satan can do nothing against the sons of God unless God permits it. God oversees our preparation for the Kingdom of God, using even satan as a tool in His hands. A protective wall is placed around us by God, with the command to satan, "This far, and no further." Satan's power is limited to what God allows, and when God chooses, He can cut off that power entirely. Even an angel with lesser authority can restrain satan under God's command. Ultimately, satan must bow before God's power, demonstrating that all authority and strength reside with God alone.
