Faithful Travelers on a Spiritual Journey
Sermon by Martin G. CollinsIn the journey of faith towards God's Kingdom, the imagery of pilgrimage is vividly captured in the concept of the Highway of Holiness, as described in Isaiah 35:8-10. A highway shall be there, a road named the Highway of Holiness, reserved for the righteous. The unclean shall not traverse it, but it is for those redeemed by the Lord. Even a fool walking this road shall not go astray, for no lion or ravenous beast shall be found there. The redeemed shall walk this path, returning to Zion with singing and everlasting joy, their sorrow and sighing fleeing away. This highway represents the sacred path for righteous travelers, leading from the wilderness of suffering to the divine destination of Jerusalem, discovered only by following God. Protected from wicked travelers and harmful beasts, the redeemed journey with assurance, guided by God who prepares the way and walks beside them, ensuring their safe arrival at His promised Kingdom.
