Fellowship With God
Sermon by Martin G. CollinsTrue fellowship with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ is the only path to understanding the world's condition and finding hope amidst its despair. Happiness, in its fullest sense, is only possible when we submit to the will of God; without this submission, confusion and misery persist. The ultimate need of individuals and the world is the true knowledge of God, genuine fellowship with Him, and real unity with Him. Reconciliation among people is only possible when they are first reconciled with God through Jesus Christ, who has made this fellowship possible by removing the barriers of sin. Sin creates a wall between humanity and God, preventing fellowship due to His holiness and the guilt it instills. Jesus Christ has dealt with this obstacle by offering Himself as a sacrifice, bearing the sins of the world to satisfy God's justice. Through His act, the barrier of sin is removed, allowing fellowship with the Father and His Son. This fellowship requires the absence of obstacles, a likeness in nature, and a shared love for the same truths and values that God cherishes. To maintain fellowship with God, we must walk in the light, acknowledging and repenting of sins as they are revealed. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin, ensuring that even when we falter, fellowship can continue if we confess and submit to Him. God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, restoring and sustaining our fellowship with Him and His Son Jesus Christ. This fellowship brings peace and confidence, enabling us to endure challenges with the joy that Christ Himself experienced.

A Hidden Mystery in God!
Sermon by Martin G. CollinsTrue fellowship with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, is the essential answer to the world's hopelessness and despair. Happiness in a full and complete sense is only possible when we submit to the will of God. A person who refuses to do so will experience confusion and misery, as seen throughout the world. The ultimate central need of individuals and the world is true knowledge of God, genuine fellowship with Him, and real unity with Him. Because of the coming of Christ, who is the Son of God, and what He has done, it is possible for us to be in fellowship with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Certain essentials are necessary before we can have fellowship and unity with God the Father and Jesus Christ. The first essential is the removal of the obstacle of sin, which creates a barrier between God and man. Jesus Christ has dealt with this obstacle through His sacrifice, bearing the sins of the world to satisfy the justice and righteousness of the Holy God. His atoning death has rendered God propitious toward humanity, allowing fellowship to be possible when a person responds with faith, repentance, and baptism. The shed blood of Christ justifies God, remaining holy while punishing sin through His Son's death, thus removing the enmity and making fellowship possible. The second essential for true fellowship and unity is likeness, a fundamental sameness with God. Before we can truly know God and have fellowship with Him, we must be like Him by receiving His nature through the Holy Spirit. Christ alone makes this possible, manifesting eternal life and enabling us to share His life abundantly. Through Christ living in us, we become a new creation, empowered to follow His example of humility, sacrifice, love, and overcoming sin, thus fostering fellowship with God. The third essential for fellowship and unity with God and each other is to love the same things, particularly the truth. We know the Father through Jesus Christ and have fellowship with Him through Christ's death and life. Even in a world disunified from God, we can experience unity with the Father and the Son, sharing the confidence and joy Christ had, even amidst trials, by focusing on the will of God. To continue this fellowship, we must walk in the light, acknowledging and confessing our sins, allowing the light to expose and remove sin from our lives. Though the potential to sin remains, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses the guilt, enabling us to maintain fellowship with God when we repent and strive to overcome. Fellowship with God is not made impossible by occasional sin, for the blood of Christ continues to cleanse those who love and obey Him. God has provided for us in fellowship with Him by applying the blood of Christ to forgive our sins, restoring and sustaining our relationship with Him. Even as we occasionally sin, we can continue to walk with God in the light, assured of His faithful and just forgiveness through the precious blood of Christ.
Image and Likeness of God (Part Five)
Sermon by John W. RitenbaughFellowship with God is a vital aspect of His omnipresence in our lives. God's presence is dependent upon a relationship built on knowledge, shared experiences, fellowship, and memory. As this relationship grows, His presence in our lives becomes greater, for eternal life is to know Him. The greater our true knowledge of God, both intellectual and experiential, and the greater our devotion to Him, the stronger His presence becomes, as these elements increase faith. Before knowing God, we were in union with satan, controlled by him through deception, carrying his family name. This union was broken through God's revelation of Himself, enabling us to choose obedience to Him and begin a relationship of union with Him. God desires control of our lives through our agreement with His truth, shaping us to His purpose. He seeks a relationship where we come to know Him, trust Him, and believe in Him ever more deeply, while He already knows us far better than we know ourselves. Obedience to His commandments is a major factor in having a relationship and oneness with Him. Without doing the same things God does, we cannot be one with Him, and there is no basis for His presence without a relationship. Those who do not know God are seldom aware of His presence, as there is nothing on which to base it. However, we carry His presence with us wherever we go based on this relationship, reflecting His image even in this aspect of fellowship.
