The Great White Throne

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

The Great White Throne Judgment represents a significant future event more than 1,000 years ahead when vast numbers of people will have their opportunity for salvation. This period follows the Millennium and Satan's failed rebellion, as depicted in Revelation 20, where the second resurrection occurs, bringing the rest of the dead back to physical life to live again for an extended period. During this time, they will be judged according to their works, standing before the Great White Throne, which is described with profound simplicity yet immense power as "great," "white," and "throne." The term "great" signifies the immense quality and authority of the throne, reflecting the unparalleled greatness of the One who sits upon it. His dominion is universal, His power absolute over all, making the throne great because He excels in everything He undertakes. "White" symbolizes purity, righteousness, and cleanliness, indicating that the Judge is holy and good, ensuring that every decision made from this throne will be perfectly just and unswayed by any bias. The word "throne" denotes a seat of sovereign authority, where the One seated is prepared to judge with total and decisive power, issuing pronouncements that are final and perfectly balanced between severity and goodness. This judgment is not a moment of immediate condemnation but a period where individuals live under judgment, learning and practicing God's way, just as the living do now. The Great White Throne is a place of fairness, where salvation and eternal life are offered to all, emanating from the throne alongside the potential for severe judgment. The One who sits upon it desires none to perish but for all to embrace eternal life, providing an opportunity for billions to experience His way and live joyfully forever with Him. Far from being a source of dread, the Great White Throne inspires godly fear and awe but also confidence, as the Judge is merciful, kind, loving, and forgiving, willing to dispense grace to those who come before Him. His decisions are always right, reflecting His perfect balance of justice and mercy, ensuring that those judged during this time receive their fair chance at salvation.

Holy Days: Last Great Day

Bible Study by Martin G. Collins

The Last Great Day, the final festival among God's annual holy days, represents the Great White Throne Judgment period. This holy day foreshadows a time after the Millennium when God will raise up to physical life all those who have never had an opportunity for salvation. Christ will judge all who lived throughout human history yet have not been called, offering them the chance to inherit eternal life. If they satisfy God's judgment, He will grant them eternal life and spiritual bodies. Those who will not repent of their rebellion against the Almighty will be raised to physical life and cast into the Lake of Fire for a merciful, permanent death. The prevalent conditions of the Millennium, such as God's government, peace, and prosperity, will continue into this judgment period, just as the Last Great Day follows the Feast of Tabernacles. As the perfect Judge of all, Christ is great in all His attributes, and the greatness of this period is seen in the vast number of people who will be mercifully and lovingly judged and granted eternal life. His proclamation on the Last Great Day also revealed that a time would come when all humanity would have free access to the living water of God's Holy Spirit, dispensed by Christ Himself. Following this judgment, God will create a new heaven and a new earth, a pure world fit for God the Father Himself, where there shall be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain, and all who have accepted God's way will live forever as glorified members of the God Family.

Basic Doctrines: Eternal Judgment

Bible Study by Earl L. Henn

The Great White Throne Judgment is a significant event in the process of eternal judgment, where God, the great Judge of all the universe, evaluates humanity. This judgment occurs during a hundred-year period following the Millennium, specifically for those resurrected to physical life in the second resurrection. These individuals, who never had an opportunity to learn God's way, will live in a peaceful, prosperous world free from demonic influence and will be granted a hundred years to learn and accept His way. At the Great White Throne Judgment, they will be judged by the same standard as everyone else—the Word of God, as written in the books. Additionally, a third resurrection will follow for the incorrigibly wicked, those unwilling to live by God's laws and refusing to repent. During this judgment, they will be cast into the Lake of Fire, completely burned up, with no possibility of resurrection, having rejected God's offer of salvation and eternal life.

The Process of Righteous Judgment

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Martin G. Collins

The Great White Throne Judgment represents a profound period of divine evaluation following the Millennium, as depicted in Revelation 20. During this time, free access to God will be open to all mankind for the first time in history. This judgment involves a massive second resurrection to physical life, encompassing both Israel and the Gentiles who lived and died over mankind's first six millennia, potentially numbering as many as 50 billion people. God desires the salvation of the whole world if possible, and thus, opportunities extended to Israel will also be offered to Gentiles during this period. This judgment, pictured by the Last Great Day, is not a time of sentencing but of evaluation, requiring a significant duration, suggested by Isaiah 65 to span a 100-year lifespan in a post-millennial setting of peace and prosperity. Christ, as the great Judge, will oversee this period, continuing the conditions of righteousness that prevailed during the Millennium. God's Word indicates this 100-year span as the specific time for the Great White Throne Judgment, following the Millennium, just as the eighth day festival follows the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles. During this 100-year period, most of humanity will live God's way of life without the influence of satan, who will no longer be present to deceive or mislead. The firstfruits of God's Family, having gained 1,000 years of experience with God's power, will be qualified to assist God the Father and Jesus Christ in the momentous decisions of this last judgment. This period underscores God's mercy, as even sinners living under Christ's rule for 100 years will face judgment, highlighting a deliberate evaluation based on love for the participants' benefit at appointed times. Following this judgment, a purging of the earth will occur, marking an end to human procreation and existence, while the spiritual bodies of the saved will be everlasting.

Kings and Priests

Sermonette by James Beaubelle

This insightful message explores the profound meaning of the Eighth Day- a dramatic pivotal moment in God's divine plan of salvation, symbolizing new beginnings and the final phase of God's redemptive work. Sadly, though very few scriptures speak directly about it, the Eighth Day reveals abundant spiritual depth, depicting the resurrection, judgment, and the establishment of God's eternal Kingdom. Two of the key themes rooted in Revelation 5:10 are that resurrected saints will become kings and priests, serving under the Melchizedek priesthood and a summons to active preparation for this divine roll. Those in the first resurrection will serve alongside Christ, administering justice and mercy as God's government extends over the entire earth. This timeframe includes the time following Satan's final rebellion and destruction described in Revelation 20, culminating into the Great White Throne Judgment , when billions will be resurrected and judged according to their works. As future kings and priests, we, as God's called out saints must cultivate readiness through sanctification, developing their spiritual gifts, proving themselves faithful in the small things, enabling themselves to be useful to the Master in greater things, actively growing in righteousness, serving others , and overcoming worldly entanglements. Just as ancient Israel was called to be a kingdom of priests ( Exodus 19:5-6, the Israel of God (Galatians 6:16) must live their lives of humble service toward others. The Eighth Day depicts a time when God's wisdom will replace the folly of the world, celebrating the dawn of eternity, when God's people, transformed as kings and priests, will serve with Christ in love , righteousness, and peace as all creation enters its final renewal.
