Jesus Christ rules the nations with a rod of iron, striking the earth with the breath of His mouth and shattering rebellious nations like a potter's vessel. His governance is firm, invincible, and free of political correctness, tolerating no rebellion and compelling all to submit to God's way. At His coming, He smites opposing nations, treads the winepress of Almighty God's wrath, and establishes a new order. Afterward, He sets down the rod, shows compassion, teaches the humbled remnant, and helps them rebuild. The remnant becomes meek, trusts in the Lord, and speaks no lies, so knowledge of the Lord covers the earth. Those called now must govern themselves with this same rod, preparing to rule with Him in love and understanding.

Rod of Iron

Sermon by John O. Reid

Jesus Christ will rule the nations with a rod of iron, crushing and subduing all His foes as a potter's vessel is shattered. His governance, firm and invincible, will not tolerate rebellion, compelling all to submit and align with God's way. This rod of iron signifies a steady, confident rule over the earth, His flock, ensuring protection and leadership, though much of the world will resist. At His coming, when the world is in chaos, He will wield this rod to smite opposing nations, treading the winepress of Almighty God's wrath, establishing a new order through decisive, unyielding authority. For those called now, aligning with Him is crucial, as we prepare to help rebuild and guide humanity under His reign. Our personal responsibility is to govern ourselves with this same rod of iron, striving diligently for the ultimate graduation into His eternal kingdom.

The Harvest is Almost In

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by John O. Reid

Jesus Christ will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. To the one who overcomes and keeps His works until the end He will give power over the nations. He shall rule them with a rod of iron. There will be no political correctness. It will be a rod of iron. They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels. This will be Jesus Christ primarily but His people will follow His lead. They will rule with a rod of iron without political correctness but with love and in true understanding in what is best for every situation. This is how the wonderful harvest will begin to be formed.

Zephaniah (Part Three): Quick Destruction, Eternal Restoration

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Jesus comes as a mighty warrior and conquering King who wields a rod of iron to shatter the nations like a potter's vessel. He comes with a sword from His mouth that smites the nations until the blood reaches the bridle of the horses. His purpose is to execute justice upon rebellion and sin after the nations refuse repeated calls to turn from their ways. He must first come in anger and destruction because the accumulated sin leaves Him no alternative. After this judgment He puts down the rod of iron and the scepter that smashes the nations. He then shows compassion, teaches the humbled remnant, and helps them rebuild their cities and lives. The remnant of Israel becomes meek and humble, trusts in the name of the Lord, does no unrighteousness, and speaks no lies. The knowledge of the Lord covers the earth so that peace and righteousness replace the former violence and deception.
