Every Christian longs for the return of Jesus Christ, and we search for fulfillments of the signs signaling that wonderful prophetic event. The seemingly rapid increase in natural disasters and heavenly spectacles can excite us to a fever pitch. Richard Ritenbaugh cautions that we need make sure that our understanding and interpretation of such signs align with what the Bible says about them.
John Ritenbaugh, suggesting that conspiracy blogs seemingly focus on similar sets of culprits from banking, politics, and corporations, points out that none of these blogs have any awareness of Satan's oversight of these sinister worldwide conspiracies. Living almost exclusively by sight, mankind is unable to see God or Satan, scoffing at all things pertaining to faith. The prince of the power of the air has been immensely successful over the past several centuries, taking control of secular education at major universities, via the philosophies entrenched in God-defying humanism. The Barna Group, monitoring church attendance in America and Britain, reports a massive hemorrhage of membership over the past 150 years. Today, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender organizations—and their ilk— are salivating at the prospect of suing churches for hate crimes if these churches cite scriptures critical of immorality and perversion. Helping them get their way are journalistic and political Nephilim, powerful tyrant journalists, congressmen, and judges enforcing their reprobate, debased, perverted brand of 'morality' derived from the mind of Satan.
John Ritenbaugh, suggests that, although humanism as a philosophy came onto American campuses approximately 50 years ago, it has been a part of the world's culture since 1600, when technology enabled secular universities to counter-attack the explosion of Biblical knowledge, unleashed by the Protestant Reformation. Actually, humanism has been alive and well for thousands of years. American culture, steeped in materialistic humanism, is decidedly non-Christian in its current outlook, as Satan has achieved a measure of success by twisting and distorting the information disseminated by secular universities, savagely destroying faith and creating doubt in God's existence, let alone His ultimate authority.
John Ritenbaugh, observing that God has planned the end time for thousands of years, giving us a tiny preview of what the world would be like in Matthew 24, reminds us that Satan, while limited by God, has done the same thing, orchestrating his plans for hundreds of years, employing not only his demonic forces, but gullible human beings who may not know that they are being used in his service. Technology exploded from the time of Gutenberg's press, unleashing the forces of the Protestant Reformation (which served eventually as a catalyst for the dispersal of multitudes of folk around the world) as well as the current advances in the Internet which enables, paradoxically, both God's work and Satan's education (misinformation and lies) to increase at meteoric proportions. Even though Satan has within his power the ability (and the desire) to destroy the entirety of mankind, God is sovereign over all and He has limited what Satan can do and has placed a protective hedge around His people. He has given them a priceless education through translations of the Bible—a priceless education that billions of people have been denied. It behooves us, as God's called-out ones, to resist the insidious mis-education and dis-information promulgated by Satan, and make use of the priceless knowledge God has given us through His Scriptures.
John Ritenbaugh, reflecting on Mike Adam's blog post "I miss America," warning that 34 precious freedoms have disappeared over the past 40 years which will never come back, marvels that this frightening erosion of freedom has taken place seemingly within a nanosecond. Though we are living in the terrifying climax of a technological revolution, Satan has been meticulously and carefully preparing for a war against Almighty God for millennia, stepping up the pace as technology (from the time of Gutenberg until now) has developed exponentially, taking our breath away. Human life is short, but Satan's life is a great deal longer, and he can prepare new generations of human beings to carry out his deceptive, mendacious plans, bold and ambitious, (attempting to educate people on a worldwide basis, instilling into them his lies and misinformation). We can be thankful that God has placed limitations on Satan's ability to destroy mankind.
John Ritenbaugh, reflecting on the cumulative effects of Satan's long-term miseducation project, affirms that humanism is a powerful, fully functioning religion, responsible for the 'normalization' of abortion and other perversions, and a white-hot hostility to God and His sovereignty. Advances in technology, such as the Gutenberg press in 1439 to the internet in 1969, have been mixed blessings and curses, used for both good and evil. Gutenberg's press, instrumental in augmenting the impact of the Protestant Reformation, made the mass, ubiquitous distribution of the Bible possible throughout the entire world. The 17th century could be said to be the fountainhead of exponential communication progress, turning the oppressive ecclesiastical and the stultifying feudal world upside down, leading to the immigration of the Israelitish peoples to the western hemisphere, often in an effort to safeguard a base for religious liberty. At the same time, Satan, aware of his limited time to destroy, has been using the same advances in technology, advancing his agenda to neutralize religious liberty, replacing it with a so-called progressive, humanistic agenda attempting to destroy God's sovereignty and marginalize or destroy God's called-out ones.
John Ritenbaugh, reflecting on the massive deceptions blinding our citizenry from the true dangers of the economic and cultural wars which threaten our quality of life, questions whether advanced technology is an acceptable tradeoff for eroded morality. Our technology has made possible annihilation of millions rather than thousands of people, having built faithfully on the foundation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Satan, now, has the power to wipe out entire nations. Our patriarch Abraham was much better off than the distinguished citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah who lived in comparative luxury. The belief that technology has made us better is really a facade, masking the reality that intangible factors of love and hope have hopelessly deteriorated. Thankfully, although Satan has been allowed limited power over mankind, God's purpose for mankind will prevail. God will allow Satan to wreak havoc, using him as a tool to bring the oblivious, naïve, Western world to repentance. Even though we are in God's hands, we cannot live carelessly, but always must be mindful of Satan's deception.
John Ritenbaugh, reflecting upon the developments currently taking place in Europe and the United States, asserts that Satan's fingerprints are all over the emerging New World Order, an entity that was conceived around AD 1700. The size of this conspiracy is immense, far beyond the capacity of any human being or human organization to comprehend or execute. People who are Satan's pawns in this conspiracy have no inkling that they are being manipulated. The religion of secular humanism binds this whole multinational, multicultural enterprise together. Hatred for God's Law and lust for wealth and power draw all these strange bedfellows together. The liberal-progressive mindset considers itself elite and superior to all other philosophies and religions. For the past several hundred years, secular humanist educators, steeped in the cunning and craftiness of the same serpent who corrupted the mindset of our original parents, have similarly advanced a crass material, secular education, throwing the thinking processes of our citizenry into confusion, debasing morality and ethics, and producing a hopelessly reprobate way of thinking and acting.
John Ritenbaugh reiterates that Satan, attempting to once again usurp God's power and sovereignty, has been engineering a conspiratorial plan. He has carefully modeled it after God's propensity to work through families, working with familial traits, skills, and temperaments, using his present limited authority as ruler of this age and its cosmos. It appears that Satan picked up the pace of his plans in the 1700s, after the Protestant Reformation returned some respect toward the Bible and the moral standards reflected from its teachings. A counter-reformation was launched by the Jesuits, an order from which Pope Francis has emerged. In the meantime, humanistic leaders have been weaning people away from high moral standards to accept the baseness and depravity of the present culture. It has taken generations of time to implement this reprobate morality, eroding belief in God, destroying the family, and fostering excessive corruption in government and society.
John Ritenbaugh, viewing the unfolding conspiracies as shaping the dynamic of the worldview, which impact us as we prepare for the Kingdom of God, focuses on a conspiracy attempting to overthrow an entire governmental, economic, educational, and social system. Currently, the architects of this conspiracy have become exceedingly prideful, gloating on the successes of their sinister machinations. Its objectives are audacious and appear to be a fait accompli. The architects of this conspiracy fear a revolt of the American people and are feverishly attempting to confiscate firearms from private citizens. Reportedly 300 million firearms are owned by private citizens. No other country in the world is as as empowered to revolt. The conspiracy to confiscate these firearms is composed of many nations and rulers, attended by sycophantic educators, legislators, corporate leaders, and media-the infrastructure of many nations. These leaders are like a cancer metastasizing across the governing bodies. They are tightly organized and orchestrated up and down the hierarchies of authority, with the objective of leading the world's citizenry to a new world order, transforming governmental, economic, educational, social, technological , military, and religious operations over the entire world, beginning in the Western world. It has a gifted spiritual leader at its helm—namely Satan the devil. This conspiracy has developed over a span of centuries, beginning well before there ever was a United States of America. The great seal of this country serves as the emblem of the new order. The slow, steady development (generations of time) of this conspiracy, and the ties to an oligarchic family order, seems to indicate Satanic influence. This tampering and altering of the economic base was all prophesied in scripture.
John Ritenbaugh, reminding us that we share our residence on this earth with Satan and his fallen demons, and that to them we are interlopers and intruders, cautions that Satan has not abandoned his tactics from the original rebellion described in Isaiah 14, but is now attempting to garner the support of human leaders and their gullible followers to attempt to topple the Creator from his position of authority, setting himself up as the supreme power. The conspiracies concocted by world leaders are exclusively inspired by Satan—even the infighting and apparent conflicts involving kings deposing kings, and a 'supreme' blasphemous religious leader totally possessed by Satan attaining miraculous powers imposing slavery on the populace, with the hopelessly unattainable goal of defeating the sovereign God, are elements of Satan's plan! No created being can depose his Creator.
John Ritenbaugh, reiterating that conspiracies are not unknown in every Israelitish country, including the United States of America, characterizes conspiracies as attempts made by two or more people with strong convictions, believing they have a right to overthrow a detestable 'pretender' to power, and suggests that this mindset derives directly from Satan the devil, who by cunning and lies deceived our first parents and moreover one-third of the angelic beings who inhabit now this earth with us. We need to remember the adages "those who fail to learn from history will repeat it" and "a leopard can never change its spots." Satan entered into Judas to bring about the murder of Christ by evil religious leaders, intent on hanging onto their ill-managed power. As Satan tried to murder Christ, he is also trying to murder members of Christ's church—His called-out ones constituting His Body. Satan, not a lazy being, has from the beginning attempted to influence heads of nations and religious organizations. We need to be aware that he will attack again and again. We can expect a full-scale attack coming in our time on God's called-out people.
John Ritenbaugh, reminding us that political conspiracies have always been a part of our culture, citing four successful assassinations of Presidents and one resignation of a President forced out by a sinister political conspiracy, indicates that these conniving plots and schemes will crescendo to the time of the end when they will all be destroyed by Christ's return and the establishment of the Kingdom of God. Individuals who involve themselves in political intrigue and revolutionary conspiracies do so for the sake of protecting a power-base, or with the hope of monetary or political gain, as was seen with the religious leaders who furtively and meticulously plotted the death of Jesus Christ, gathering 'data' by trickery and falsehood to justify their hideous deed. Conspiracies are characterized by two or more people who fear loss of status or power, believing that they are justified to use any means whatsoever to remove the perceived threat, anticipating that they will personally gain by the successful execution of the plot.
John Ritenbaugh, reflecting on his changing attitudes toward conspiracy theories, investigates the establishment of the Federal Reserve System, a nefarious institution bent on legal thievery. The break-up of the Worldwide Church of God was but a faint preview of what will happen to the United States. The Bible has recorded a number of events in which conspiracies within families hopelessly fractured long-established dynasties. Satan successfully conspired to draw one-third of the angels into fighting against God. This same ruler of the world still motivates sinister conspiracies working in our very midst right before our eyes.
David Maas, cuing in on Ecclesiastes 2:3, affirms that Solomon, neither a hedonistic party-goer nor a burned-out, despairing derelict attempting to drink his sorrows away, actually studied pleasure, mirth, despair, and madness with the rigorous mindset of an anthropological scientist, able to detach himself to objectively describe the consequences of an array of life's experiences. He used an ability General Semanticists call "self-reflexiveness" (thinking about our thinking) and a frame of mind, termed by Victorian philosopher Matthew Arnold as disinterestedness, staying aloof from the 'practical,' 'parochial' or 'emotional' attachments people put on those experiences. We have the responsibility as Christians to constantly monitor our thoughts, deflecting Satan's fiery darts as the Israeli Iron Dome deflects the continuous onslaught of Palestinian / Hamas rockets. The news media, entertainment, and blogs on the Internet have been used by the prince of the power of the air to hopelessly divide us, with the aim of motivating us to hate our fellow man intensely, allowing his fiery darts to consume our lives. As God's called-out ones, we need to monitor our thoughts from the perspective of the spirit in man and also with God's Holy Spirit, making sure we are not suckered into taking in one of Satan's divisive gang-fights.
In this keynote address of the 2009 Feast of Tabernacles, John Ritenbaugh, commenting upon the Steven Spielberg movie Munich (a movie depicting an event in which the Palestinians murdered Jewish athletes in 1972 at the Munich Olympic games), describes how Israeli death squads were formed to retaliate against the Palestinians. Although this mission started on a relatively high, noble, and singular purpose, they eventually degenerated into cynicism, demoralization, and paranoia. Alliances with the stated purpose of revenge and retaliation, when coupled with exponential technological advances have made this world dangerously smaller and more vulnerable. Conspiracy theories are entirely believable when we realize that the whole world lies under the sway of the prince and power of the air, a desperate diabolical being who has absolutely no fear of Almighty God, literally living exclusively for the sake of destroying. This being, filled with pride and blind hatred, still believes he can displace God. He is a master of deceit and cunning, twisting people's thinking, magnifying resentment and victimhood, as exemplified by his possessing Judas Iscariot. Satan is fully behind the global effort to join nations together, dissolving sovereignty for the purpose of an international objective, a pattern which can be seen in the construction of the multicultural Tower of Babel, Nimrod's despotism, and other examples throughout scripture. Conspiracies, rampant in the world today, are driven by corporate greed and self interest. Conspiracies on the part of political parties have led to corrupt grasping at power. At Christ's return, all these satanically inspired conspiracies end as He uses a rod of iron against all conspirators. We must not worry about world conspiracies, but instead align ourselves with the Kingdom of God.
Keeping an eye on the news in order to 'watch world events' can be both time-consuming and maddening. Richard Ritenbaugh compares this task to playing a shell game, wondering if the game itself, hard to follow as it is, is distracting some of us from more important pursuits.
Why has anti-Semitism remained a part of this world's way of thinking? Charles Whitaker shows from recent history that anti-Semitism has merely morphed into new expressions of the old evil.
More than seven weeks have passed since the disastrous terrorist attacks on September 11. ...
John Ritenbaugh addresses the controversial topics of conspiracy theories, Sovereign Citizenship and the New World Order. These, for too many, burn up countless hours of precious time in vain speculation and useless anxiety. The drive toward one world government is a transparent reality having several biblical prototypes (Genesis 10:8-13; Daniel 2:36-44), all inspired by demonic opposition to God's rule. There is nothing new in this game-plan; conspiracy seems to be a part of our human nature. Satan, manipulating self-interest and pride in various groups and individuals, will only be able to hold his inharmonious confederation together for a short while. If our fear is not in God, this conspiracy will distract, immobilize, and paradoxically tempt us to compromise with it. Our fear ought to be in God who has sovereignty and the final say over all things (Isaiah 8:11-13).
There is a conspiracy to bring this world under one government! However, Earl Henn shows that its real, "behind the scenes" leaders are Satan and his demons. Humans involved in it do not realize they are being influenced to fulfill Satan's desires!
In Matthew Christ likens end-time events to the time of Noah's Flood. John Ritenbaugh gives insight into how this end time flood might manifest itself and what we can do to avoid being swept up in it.
The church at large has downplayed the fuller dimension of the fear of God by emphasizing awe, respect, or reverence, while ignoring its other dimensions such as fright, dread, or terror. Consequently, many have inadvertently adopted a soft concept of God, disrespecting and showing contempt for God's authority and power. Mistakenly, we transfer or appropriate our fear to human beings, who cannot revoke the penalty of death hanging over us. When Moses and Isaiah recognized God's presence, they became aware of their own vileness in comparison to God's holiness and power. By legitimately fearing God, we lose our human terror, finding sanctuary in God Almighty. Godly fear is a gift given to us as a result of His calling, compelling submission to His purpose and leading to godly knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.
