Liberalism and Education (Part One)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)The liberalization of America, a process nearly complete after a century, was orchestrated by satan using men and women as pawns to execute his plan. This scheme, beginning in the Protestant churches, aimed to morally and spiritually mislead the nation by gradually degrading the reverence for God and the Bible. The master stroke of satan's educational system was infiltrating government schools, where liberal-minded administrators and professors dominated university programs. As students graduated, they carried this mindset into public leadership roles in politics, churches, and education, further spreading it through elementary and high schools. This gradual indoctrination, akin to a frog in slowly heated water, was a massive and successful program that only an evil, long-living, invisible being could orchestrate. Woodrow Wilson, a key figure in the progressive movement, exemplified this shift by stating in 1914 that the purpose of a university is to make young gentlemen as unlike their fathers as possible, a principle that continues to impact society a hundred years later.
Liberalism and Education (Part Two)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Satan has orchestrated a deliberate and gradual spread of liberalism into university administrations and faculties through deceived men and women, employing artful lies to influence these institutions. Using the principle that a little leaven leavens the whole lump, his efforts have been remarkably successful, as liberalism dominates these educational centers today. This philosophy, being easier to accept than conservatism due to human nature's desire to break free from restraints, has found fertile ground in academia. The results of a 2003 survey by the Center for the Study of Popular Culture across 32 elite colleges and universities reveal a stark imbalance, with an overall faculty ratio of 10 Democrats to one Republican, and in some institutions, no Republicans at all in faculty or administrative positions. This tilt ensures that many students may graduate without exposure to any perspective other than a liberal bias, as these graduates often assume influential positions in society, further spreading satan's brand of liberalism. Without any foreseeable force to alter this trajectory, the liberal movement in education continues unabated, leading society downhill immorally, unless halted by the return of Jesus Christ.
What's With Education Today?
CGG Weekly by Martin G. CollinsStatistics reveal that the more education an American citizen has, the more likely he is to support human perversions such as abortion and homosexuality. Despite the proven destructive nature of these activities, well-educated individuals often embrace the lies of self-serving teachers rather than honestly pursuing truth. Data indicates that higher levels of institutional education correlate with greater support for the legality of abortion and homosexual relations. These institutions of higher learning are distorting the facts of life to promote their agenda, and their students readily accept these lies. Teachers in higher education often ignore proofs of God's existence and sovereignty, choosing instead to promote unsubstantiated and untrue knowledge. This enmity toward God by the academic community has produced tainted fruit on a grand scale, resulting in mental and physical anguish from perverted human activities. Truth is only obtainable through a relationship with God, yet many teachers neglect their duty to teach it, instead promoting alternate lifestyles, evolution, and tolerance of sin due to their lack of connection with their Creator. Public education serves as a tool for those who reject truth to push their agenda on a massive scale, with most higher education seeking to re-educate its disciples with false, humanistic propaganda.
Mightier Than The Sword (Part Five)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)In this world, two major invisible forces with intellect and freedom of movement beyond human capacity shape our circumstances. One is God, supreme over all, whose will ultimately prevails. The other is satan, a merciless being with intelligence far surpassing man's, combined with thousands of years of experience in deceiving humanity. With brilliant and persuasive cleverness, he hides his existence from national leadership, operating through a simple yet effective means of persuasion: offering men something they cannot resist. This pattern, begun with Adam and Eve, continues to work almost every time. Through philosophers, satan has implemented a system of education that influences the modern world. John Locke, one such philosopher, believed that one's own mind is sufficient to discern truth apart from divine revelation. As a latitudinarian, he advocated for men to have the liberty to choose their own beliefs, a notion that became popular and contributed to the fragmentation of Protestant groups. This idea was hard for men to resist, aligning with satan's method of offering irresistible temptations. Following Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau emerged as a profoundly influential philosopher, especially in Europe and France. Recognized as the first of the modern intellectuals, his ideologies have left fingerprints on schools, churches, and governments. Rousseau proposed democratic statism, which led to governments consuming over 50% of national income, a stark contrast to the 5-10% before his time. His belief in rejecting the existing order and refashioning it according to his own principles, achieved through political processes and driven by instinct and impulse, has shaped the institutions of the modern world, reflecting satan's deceptive influence.
Mightier Than the Sword (Part Four)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)God is fully aware of everything occurring on His great green earth, and nothing escapes His view. He permits what occurs, guided by His sovereign will and loving purpose, even as satanic deceptions work in men's minds to push Him aside. Within the university systems, a separate compilation of philosophical knowledge, not drawn from or checked against God's Word, has emerged under the strong influence of satan and his demons. This humanism, a product of human minds, is followed with religious fervor by many. In the nearly 400 years between Thomas Aquinas and Descartes, humanism expanded significantly. Descartes assembled the building blocks of a virtually man-centered way of life in the Western world, establishing tools to define truth apart from God through methodological skepticism. His writings stirred intellectual minds, paving the way for further mental excursions away from God, asserting that man can determine philosophical truth independently. Following Descartes, John Locke, born in 1632 into a Calvinistic Puritan family, showed intellectual brilliance and taught at Oxford University by age 20. Though he never denied God's existence, Locke was among the first prominent philosophers to apostatize from organized church bodies. His humanistic thinking emphasized individual freedom to determine truth apart from universities. Locke's influence on the Western world, particularly in America's founding, was remarkable. His ideas, reflected in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, shifted governance away from divine sanction to a focus on "We the people," setting a trajectory toward secular democracies and republics, especially in England and the United States. Locke insisted on individual liberty to choose beliefs about religion and God's workings in personal life, establishing the foundation for American individualism.
Mightier Than the Sword (Part Two)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Satan, as the ruler of this world, seeks to destroy godly influence in every aspect of life, including education. His anti-God interests permeate various spheres, but a false, deceptive education forms the strength of his operations. Through figures like John Dewey, who was openly anti-God and aimed to destroy American education by lowering literacy levels, satan has orchestrated a deliberate attack on the nation's children and government. Dewey's programs, implemented nationally since the early 1920s, are seen as an act of war against the Constitution, liberties, and God-given rights, reflecting satan's destructive intent. Historically, satan's influence in education extends to the founding of early universities, particularly in Europe. By AD 1270, thirteen universities, mostly in Italy, operated on anti-God, humanist principles, encouraged by the Holy Roman Empire and the Roman Catholic Church. These institutions, despite some inclusion of God's revelation, were largely humanistic, focusing on civil power over religious truth. Thomas Aquinas, a prominent figure in the late 1260s and early 1270s, furthered this trend by proposing two systems of knowledge in universities: one sacred and one secular. This marked a significant departure from the belief that higher education should be based solely on Scripture, allowing human reason to form a separate, reliable system of philosophical knowledge, thus advancing satan's agenda of deception through education.
Mightier Than the Sword (Part Three)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)The principle at work in making certain philosophical figures stand out is their ability to greatly influence their peers, who then spread these concepts far and wide, creating a synergy of belief in lies among those who accept them. This process is evident in the impact of Thomas Aquinas, who lived nearly 750 years ago and is still regarded as a great innovator in educational circles. His intelligence, reputation as a theologian and teacher, and the historical timing of a movement away from God allowed him to advocate for university courses based on human reason apart from divine revelation. This approach, rooted in minds blinded by demonic deception, was not new but a revival of an ancient system, originally seen among the educated Greeks with figures like Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates. Aquinas restarted this old system, acting as an educational wedge that slowly drove apart opposing disciplines. Since his time, university education has never returned to its prior state, with the humanistic basis now holding almost absolute control over administration and affecting knowledge in nearly every category, including mathematics and music. Moving closer to our time, Rene Descartes emerged at the beginning of the 17th century, furthering this shift. Considered by many as the father of modern philosophy, his ideas departed widely from the feeling-based understanding of his era. His popularity among peers, who embraced his writings, nearly turned the educational world upside down. His famous statement, "I think, therefore I am," reflects a pride-filled stance that liberated followers from God, aligning with the same deceptive influence that seeks to separate humanity from divine truth.
Conspiracy Theory (Part Thirteen)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Satan has been preparing for our time for hundreds of years, countering the explosion of true biblical knowledge that emerged after the Protestant Reformation and the advent of mass printing in the 1600s. To combat the truths being revealed, he utilized secular universities and their philosophy and science schools as the foundation for his counterattack. His educational conspiracy against Christianity is fine-tuned and working precisely, as evidenced by the cultural decline of the Israelitish nations, where materialistic elements of humanism have gained control. The main thrust of satan's attack through universities, which have existed for over a thousand years, is to destroy faith in God's existence, God's word, and any element pertaining to God's way of life. By undermining man's thinking processes through confusing information, he targets the next generation's leadership being prepared in universities. These individuals then spread twisted information into business, government, churches, and schools, rapidly influencing every facet of life. This strategy mirrors the initial attack on Adam and Eve, where he destroyed their purity by eroding their faith in what God said, aiming to establish himself as the ultimate authority.
In the Wake of an Unnatural Disaster (Part Nine)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Satan's educational system has been a devastating force in subverting morality, particularly in the Western world, over the past 600 years. Through meticulous timing and targeted deception, he has focused his efforts where they would have the most impact, especially among the Israelitish peoples in Europe who possessed the Word of God and some measure of truth in their worship. By AD 1300, universities in Britain, France, Italy, and Germany were flourishing, and Satan had already ensnared these centers of higher education, using influential philosophers as tools to break from long-held moral and spiritual values. These educators, including Descartes, Locke, Rousseau, Marx, Mill, Darwin, and Nietzsche, taught ideas that were nearly opposite to God's word, spreading their influence like a cancer from universities to governmental and social authorities. Despite the Catholic Church's teachings not being doctrinally pure, they were far more aligned with truth than the philosophies promoted in these academic institutions. Through this system, Satan has deceived the whole world, as Revelation 12:9 states, taking centuries to achieve the moral and spiritual devastation we witness today.
Conspiracy Theory (Part Seventeen)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Satan has orchestrated a vast system of deception across generations, particularly over the past 600 years, by raising up charismatic leaders to influence mankind. These leaders, often secular educational philosophers or sometimes religious figures, act as shepherds guiding followers away from God. Through his influence, satan brings other capable individuals into key cultural roles within education, politics, economics, manufacturing, and religion. These leaders adopt and adapt the original philosopher's anti-God teachings to their respective fields, spreading corruption far and wide. This process, driven by the principle of leaven, permeates entire cultures, degenerating moral, spiritual, and ethical standards as each generation repeats the cycle of deception.
Mightier Than the Sword (Part One)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Apostasy has been a significant force in shaping the spiritual landscape of the Western world, with a marked decline in church attendance and a departure from even the false versions of Christianity over the past century. This shift did not occur suddenly but has developed over hundreds of years, influenced by key figures who themselves turned away from the religious foundations of their upbringing. These men, born into Catholic, Protestant, or Jewish families, gradually departed in thought and conduct from their familial and scholastic teachings, contributing to the spirit of the times we now experience. At the heart of this end-time battle lies the fundamental issue of who will be recognized as God. Satan's challenge to become the Most High, as revealed in Isaiah 14:14, set the stage for this ongoing conflict even before the creation of mankind. Though he lost that initial challenge, the struggle continues, involving all of humanity in proving loyalty to our Creator God. We must demonstrate, amidst the most difficult times of worldwide testing, that we believe Him to be the ultimate authority in truth, reality, law, and salvation, resisting the deceptive spiritual, mental, and physical powers aimed at breaking our allegiance. A major weapon in this spiritual warfare is humanism, satan's primary religion, which he uses with invisible assistance to convince mankind that they are god and capable of living apart from God's direction. One of the early contributors to this philosophy was Thomas Aquinas, a Roman Catholic theologian and highly respected priest born in AD 1225 and died in AD 1274. Aquinas laid important planks in the philosophical foundation of the modern university by writing persuasively in support of humanism, significantly influencing the educational system that shapes contemporary thought and further distancing humanity from divine guidance.
Conspiracy Theory (Part Six)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Satan is directly engineering a major conspiracy to challenge God's throne, using organized resistance to God's rule through Christ. Under God's allowance, satan operates with significant latitude over this world, choosing and training individuals for positions of power to fulfill his intents. His strategies involve planning across generations, not mere years, and organizing along family lines, ideas borrowed from God's own methods of working through families like those of Adam, Shem, Abraham, and Jacob for His purposes. Satan's clever use of people for his programs surpasses human efforts, prospering them in social endeavors such as politics, academia, corporate influence, literature, entertainment, fashion, psychology, and military achievement. Satan's educational system plays a critical role in his conspiracy, gradually eroding belief in the Creator God and His Word. Over generations, he has used his team to weaken the fabric of public education, starting in universities where teachers are trained, then passing misinformation down to children in elementary and high schools. This has led to a decline in both Christian and scholastic education, crippling biblical character to a virtually useless state. The devastation is evident in the widespread destruction of family life, corruption in government and business practices, and a fall in national admiration among other nations.
