Protecting the Vulnerable

Ted Bowling, focusing on Deuteronomy 21:10-14, a passage giving instructions for the treatment of female prisoners-of-war, contends that, far from being a blatant example of sexual exploitation (as some 'progressives' have characterized it), this passage demonstrates God's protection of the most vulnerable among us. In the event an Israelite soldier became infatuated with a female prisoner-of-war, God protected the woman from a "one-night fling" in an effort to prepare her for an honorable marriage. She was to shave her head, removing any temptation from the young man, and enabling the woman to mourn for her family for thirty days. During this time of transition, she is given lodging as a guest in her captor's home, given new clothes and initiated into the laws, customs and practices of her new people. At the culmination of this time, the soldier makes the calculated choice of marrying her or setting her free. This thirty-day transitional period severs her from her pagan past and prepares her to enter as a full partner in the marriage relationship. Like the female prisoner-of-war, God's called-out one represent the lowly, rescued from the bondage of sin, experiencing a transition period of sanctification, during which time he is cleansed from his sins, as he awaits a future marriage to the One who has conquered, redeemed, and sanctified him.

Overlooking Evil

Richard Ritenbaugh, examining the disgusting scandals involving Harvey Weinstein and other philanderers and child molesters exposed in the latest Hollywood debacles, observes that the liberal leftists seem to have tons of dirty laundry to expose to a somewhat more scrupulous public. The so-called victims of their advances coveted movie careers more than their own virtue. Hollywood has been waist deep in prurient slime since the 1930's and has waxed increasingly evil since that time, wallowing in sorts of perversion not even named among Gentile nations. America has descended into the cesspool of immorality in its entertainment as well as in its highest political circles, surpassing the vile immorality of the surrounding nations, just as ancient Israel became more corrupt than the nations around her. Because of her immorality, the Prophets of old, speaking on behalf of God, issued harsh condemnations. So too, America's disastrous downfall is just a matter of time.

Leadership and Covenants (Part Six)

Our culture appears to be in steep decline, a fact we can see in the undermining of marriage throughout society. Despite having served mankind well down through the millennia, the institution of marriage is crumbling under a three-pronged attack engineered by Satan the Devil. John Ritenbaugh teaches that marriage is vital to understanding God's purpose and learning to live in harmony with one another.

Political Correctness in Spades (Part Three)

John Ritenbaugh, reiterating that 'progressive' liberal, leftist change agents are engaged in one unified agenda, namely the destruction of culture and the destruction of Christianity, maintains they are being guided by the prince of the power of the air and have successfully created confusion in culture, pitting neighbor against neighbor, weakening the structure of our civilization. A large percentage of our citizenry have accepted the noxious propositions of these change agents. Four examples of such propositions include 1) The preposterous assumptions behind the Black Lives Matter movement, 2) The equally unreasonable notion that white policemen should not be permitted to protect themselves from juvenile thugs, 3) The tacit license granted by society to Planned Parenthood to slay over 300,000 Black infants annually and 4) The endorsement of the scientifically bogus claim of gender-dysphoria, with its resultant public policy of allowing individuals who feel they have been born in the wrong gender to surgically 'switch' body styles. (Serious scientific studies have indicated that the DNA code has been pre-set at birth, and that superficial cutting and pasting does not meaningfully alter gender-specific biological hardware or its supporting chemical processes.) The nadir of liberal childishness is its denial of the reality of human nature, leading to the idea that the confiscation of firearms will result in an end to violence. Liberalism is clearly a dangerous, progressively debilitating mental disorder.

The Sexual Floodgate Is Open!

Martin Collins, expressing righteous indignation at Satan's successfully executed plan to destroy families, carried on through progressive, leftist, secularist, humanist legislation, making sodomy and infant murder the law of the land, warns us that now pedophilia will be declared normal and hence legal by the reprobate politicians who now dominate the Executive branch and the Supreme Court of the United States Government. Even though Dr. Mace Knapp, Nevada State Prison Psychologist, has warned that "the serial killer has the same personality characteristics as the sex offender against children," left-wing, progressive politicians are hell-bent on declaring pedophilia and 12 other perversions, which they affectionately term "alternative lifestyles," legal. Democrat Congressman from Florida, Alcee Hastings, argued that "all alternative sexual lifestyles should be protected under the law." Now children can be regarded as non-sentient objects, just like shoes or bathroom tissue, in the twisted thinking of the leftist progressive mindset. Welcome to Satan's world!

The Catholic Church: Declining or Reviving?

With all the abuse cases casting aspersions on Catholic priests—and some are indeed guilty of the charges against them—many people believe that the Roman Catholic Church is in decline and that it will never regain its moral authority. Richard Ritenbaugh argues that, instead, Pope Benedict XVI will use this crisis to help his Church emerge even stronger on the other side.

Slavery and Babylon

Believe it or not, we are all affected by slavery, as human servitude comes in many forms: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, economic, political, etc. Martin Collins exposes modern slavery in its many guises, comparing it to the Bible's depiction of Babylon the Great and its enslaving system.

Putting It In Perspective

David C. Grabbe:  Hardly a day goes by without a major newspaper or newswire keeping us up-to-date on the latest dirt in the "Catholic clergy abuse scandal." With such media saturation it is easy to see why the general populace has such a negative opinion of Catholic priests. Through thick and thin, the media hangs on, determined to bring every gory detail to the fore. It is time we stopped to consider why, and take a look at some of the statistics surrounding this issue. ...
