Sermon: Stewardship of God's Temple (Part Four)
God's Marvelous Gift of Water
David F. Maas
Given 09-Oct-21; 47 minutes
One of the most marvelous gifts God has given humanity is water—having both fantastic physical and Spiritual dimensions, serving as the principal emblem or symbol of God's Holy Spirit, the very DNA of our glorified spiritual bodies. Jesus prophesied to the woman at the well (John 4) about living water which would permanently quench thirst. On the Last Great Day, Jesus promised that His chosen Saints would also become conduits of living water bringing healing to the nations. God's gift of water, like His other gifts of fire and wind, have a multiplicity of uses, including to quench thirst, to purify, to provide deliverance, and it can also destroy evil and enemies as in the stories of the Flood (Genesis 6:16) and the flight of Israel from Egypt (Genesis 6:17) and the flight of Israel from Egypt (Exodus 14:1-15:21). Sadly, the American medical community, heavily invested in pharmaceuticals, have never given water the honor it had to combat degenerative diseases. In 1996, an Iranian physician Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, wrote a best-selling book titled Your Body's Many Cries for Water, making the compelling case that what the medical community has attempted to label as degenerative diseases are actually severe cases of dehydration. God's people are mandated to be good stewards of the physical and spiritual gifts to which they have been entrusted, including the marvelous gift of water, in both its physical and spiritual dimensions.
