sermonette: Labor Pains
Given 08-Aug-20; 19 minutes
During her third trimester, an expectant mother experiences "practice contractions," designed by God to prepare both she and her child for delivery. These contractions become more frequent and intense with the passage of time. At Mark 13:5-8, Christ warned the disciples there would be, as it were, practice contractions, but that they would be only "the beginning of sorrows." During the past century, the world has experienced many practice contractions; God has revealed that these "birth pangs" will increase in frequency and intensity until His Son returns to establish God's Kingdom on this earth. At that time, sorrow will give way to joy as the saints become God's glorified children, analogous to the euphoria experienced by the woman after parturition.
