Teaching Our Children
Commentary by Ryan McClureChildren are a blessing from God, and we bear the God-given responsibility to teach and train them in the right way to live. As they grow, they ask questions about the holidays we do not keep, like Halloween, and the holy days we do observe, providing opportunities to share the truth with them. If we fail to teach our children about God's ways, someone else will fill that void with teachings contrary to His will. In today's world, there is a battle for our children's minds, with educational systems and societal influences pushing content that opposes God's desires for us. The public school system, spanning many years of a child's life, often focuses on indoctrination rather than essential skills, straying from what God intends for their upbringing. Metaphorically, the world bombards our children with satan's lies, while we strive to coach and inform them, equipping them with the truth and tools to make right choices as they mature. We must continue training them up, for our children depend on us to guide them in the truth.
Are We Losing Our Children?
CGG Weekly by David C. GrabbeThe frenzied pace of life in our Western, civilized nations burdens adults with stress and pressure, leaving many struggling to cope. This relentless pace profoundly affects the next generation, as children are often left without proper care and instruction amidst the chaos. If not nurtured and guided, they risk becoming lost. While not all teenagers face these challenges, the issue of neglected children is significant enough to demand attention. There is a pressing need for fathers to reject materialism and self-centeredness, stepping up to provide leadership, security, attention, involvement, and instruction to prevent any more children from being lost.
