This title evokes curiosity, especially when considering the trumpet plagues, the bowls of God's wrath, and men pleading with mountains to hide them from the wrath of the Lamb. Unlike the passive, uncomplaining submission associated with lambs, as seen in Jesus' first coming where He was led as a sheep to the slaughter without defense or retaliation, the Lamb of Revelation embodies a powerful force of judgment and ruin. This stark difference from the Lamb of the Gospels prompts a deeper exploration into why Revelation so consistently uses this imagery to depict Jesus during such cataclysmic events.
