Jesus in the Feasts (Part One): Unleavened Bread
Sermon by Richard T. RitenbaughJesus Christ is symbolized as the Unleavened Bread during the Passover. This symbolism reflects His sinless nature, as unleavened bread contains no yeast, which in biblical terms represents sin. By partaking in the Unleavened Bread, believers commemorate Christ's perfect sacrifice and His role in their spiritual cleansing.

Unleavened Bread Basics
Sermon by David C. GrabbeThe Feast of Unleavened Bread is a memorial of God's deliverance. It is a feast to the LORD, emphasizing His works and deliverance. Jesus Christ is central to this feast, as He is the Unleavened Bread. In the Passover, He is the Passover, and in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, He is the Unleavened Bread. Christ's sacrifice initiates a covenantal relationship, offering forgiveness and peace with God. He provides the bread of life, which is His perfectly lived life and all His words. These elements help us remain free from the world, its master, and slavery to sin. By feasting on the bread of life, we gain the spiritual strength to overcome, as without Christ, we can do nothing. The feast is about Him, and understanding this leads us to submit to making His unleavened state a reality in our lives.
The Unleavened Bread of Perfection
CGG Weekly by Clyde FinkleaThe primary focus during the Feast of Unleavened Bread should be on the eating of unleavened bread, which symbolizes Jesus Christ, the perfect Unleavened Bread of Life from heaven. Eating unleavened bread for seven days depicts perfection, as the number seven symbolizes perfection in Scripture. This act reminds us that we are to become unleavened, to be purified, and to be perfected in love, mirroring the divine nature of God, which is love. Our Savior emphasized this when He said, "Therefore you shall be perfect in love!, just as your Father in heaven is perfect" (Matthew 5:48).
