'As It Was In the Days of Noah'

'Prophecy Watch' by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Millions of people drowned in the deluge God brought upon the earth in the days of Noah. The Flood destroyed the flourishing but corrupt civilization that mankind had built, and only Noah and his family survived. It was a colossal event in history, remembered in various cultural legends. The days of Noah were marked by people engaging in their normal activities, unaware of the momentous event about to occur. Just as sudden destruction came upon them, so too will chaos and destruction erupt unexpectedly in the future. The time of Noah serves as a reminder of how swiftly life can be disrupted, emphasizing the need to watch and be ready for unforeseen events.

As in the Days of Noah

Sermonette by Ted E. Bowling

The 2014 movie 'Noah' is blatantly Satan-inspired and anti-God. It assassinates the character of a just man who walked with God, doing violence to God's Word.

The Days of Noah

Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

In His Olivet Prophecy, Jesus Christ states that the world at the time of His return will be as it was in the days of Noah. The primary meaning of this comparison is the unexpectedness of the event. People before the Flood were engaged in their normal routines, eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, when the Flood suddenly swept them away. They were not expecting such a catastrophe. This idea of unexpectedness is emphasized repeatedly in the passage where Jesus warns that the exact time of His return will be unknown, urging vigilance and readiness. The second meaning relates to the moral and spiritual state of the world. The term "eating" in this context implies gluttonous feasts, and "drinking" suggests reveling and excess. "Marrying and giving in marriage" points to promiscuous or loose marriage practices. These activities reflect a society that has given itself over to the pleasures of the flesh, divorcing itself from spiritual values. This moral decay is linked to the corruption described in Genesis 6, where humanity's wickedness led to God's decision to send the Flood.

Is the Kingdom of God Within You?

'Ready Answer' by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

In explaining the timing and conditions of establishing His Kingdom, Jesus details to His disciples that His return will mirror the days of Noah and Lot. He emphasizes that, just as in those times, the world will be marked by similar conditions of disregard and sudden judgment when He comes again. His coming will test the faith of His followers, requiring them to abandon homes, possessions, and even loved ones to obey God's call, much like the challenges faced in the days of Noah and Lot.
