The apostle Paul gives a prophetic warning about the deceptions of the Man of Sin. They are exhausted from committing so much sin. Their tongue is an arrow shot out. It speaks deceit. One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth but in his heart he lies in wait. The Man of Sin will convince many that he is a god. It all starts with lying by us and by others at the instigation of satan.

The first beast will be accompanied by all power, signs, and lying wonders. The miracles will be real, but their intent is to hide satan's real purpose. This is where the deception comes in, the deceptions that are going to persuade multiple, multiple, maybe billions of people to throw their hat in with the beast and the false prophet. The strong influence of the signs and lying wonders is going to force choices to be made about what to do with one's life, and that even includes us. If our names are written in the Book of Life, we must protect that by not allowing ourselves to be deceived.

The coming of the lawless one occurs according to the working of Satan with all power signs and lying wonders along with all unrighteous deception among those who perish because they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved. The false prophet performs great signs so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men and deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast. Satan the devil gives supernatural power to both the beast and the false prophet to carry out his designs and if these signs are somehow aided by technology they will only be the more deceptive. For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders so as to deceive if possible even the elect. A thorough and deep knowledge of God both intellectual and experiential will go far in avoiding the deceptive traps of this age and if one has received the love of the truth and makes use of God's spirit one will be able to recognize the lying wonders in the days ahead.
