Behind Enemy Lines (Part One)

CGG Weekly by Clyde Finklea

While the world is entangled in physical conflicts, God's people must recognize that we are engaged in a profound spiritual battle. Our struggle, as Paul declares in Ephesians 6:12, is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the powers, the world rulers of this darkness, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. Peter warns in I Peter 5:8 to be sober and alert, for our enemy, the devil, prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. To stand against this powerful and deceptive spiritual adversary, we must understand his nature and methods to counter his attacks effectively. Satan, the deceiver, hides his true identity and operations, yet Paul in II Corinthians 2:11 urges us not to be ignorant of his schemes, lest we be exploited. In II Corinthians 11:3, Paul fears that, just as the serpent deceived Eve, our minds might be led astray by his treachery. Originally named Heylel, an anointed cherub who covered God's throne, he rebelled, seeking to overthrow the Almighty and establish his own dominion, as recorded in Isaiah 14:12-14. When sin was found in him, God cast him to the earth, renaming him Satan, the adversary of God and all who stand with Him.

A Band of Christian Brothers

Sermon by Ted E. Bowling

We are engaged in a spiritual battle against Satan the Devil, the world, and our own human nature. As Christian soldiers, we face an enemy who seeks to separate us from Jesus Christ and our God. No matter the source of our trials, satan will exploit them to challenge our faith, using every opportunity to create distance between us and our Lord. God has called us to trust Him in this conflict, to rely on His strength, and to stand firm against the adversary. Only through the power and resources provided by Jesus Christ can we overcome this spiritual enemy and endure the hardships of this war.

Sin (Part Four)

True Christianity is no cakewalk into eternal life, but a life and death struggle against our flesh, the world, and a most formidable spirit adversary.

The Whirlpool of War

Is the United States a Christian Nation? (Part Five)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)

The Founders of this nation were guided more by laws of expedience than by ideology or theology, not having the true faith once delivered.

Confronting the Field of Battle

Sermon by Martin G. Collins

We must put on the entire armor of God, not just the defensive parts. We must proactively rather than reactively assume out part in the spiritual battle.

Seeing the Invisible

Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Imagination, coupled by the power of the Holy Spirit, helps us to understand the power and reality of the invisible. Faith as a concept is immaterial.

Enduring as a Good Soldier

Unsheathe Your Sword! (Part Two)

God promises the overcomer, victor, or conqueror the status of son of God. To accomplish this, we must use our sword, God's Word, to vanquish the foe.

Satan (Part 2)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

Satan uses disinformation, spread through false ministers/prophets, teaching smooth things that destroy. We must test the spirits to ensure a teaching is from God.

Building the Wall (Part Two)

Building a wall requires standing, holding firm, showing alertness and a readiness for action, even if it requires self-denial and unpleasant dirty work.
