Massive Immigration, Few Controls
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)The subject of a border wall between America and Mexico along the Rio Grande River emerged as a significant issue during the presidential election, with Mr. Trump asserting he would build one and make Mexico pay for it, viewing that nation as a primary cause of the problem. Critics argued that no wall could prevent airplane crossings, yet the practicality remains that most immigrants cross by walking, driving, or swimming, not flying, due to financial constraints. Massive migration often stems from life-and-death situations, driven by fear of starvation and the hopelessness of remaining in their current circumstances, with mismanaged national economies being a major cause of these movements. America, despite allowing more emigration than all other nations combined, faces increasing visible costs from illegal immigration, with a staggering 12 million illegal Spanish-speaking immigrants already in the country. This influx is transforming the nation without citizen consent, forced upon by leadership and external influences like the United Nations. The cultural impact is evident as English diminishes, with 60 million residents nationwide speaking another language at home, representing 20% of the population. Cities like Laredo, McAllen, El Paso, and Brownsville in Texas, and El Centro, Merced, and Yuma in California and Arizona, have majority Mexican populations. Additionally, 44 states offer driver's licenses in multiple languages, with some states providing them in up to 25 languages. The consequences extend beyond cultural shifts, as immigrants bring diseases such as measles, mumps, and chickenpox, which are rising in the United States and other nations like Germany, posing threats to public health that no physical barrier can halt. Tragic incidents, such as the recent death of eight illegal adults in a truck in San Antonio due to neglect, highlight the dire human cost of this crisis. This situation has been exacerbated by a lack of accountability from representatives, who cooperate with external forces, bringing these challenges upon the nation.
Why Liberals Love Illegals (Part One)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)President Obama has approved $20.3 million specifically for the immigration of thousands of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to the United States, covering transportation, food, housing, and assistance money upon their arrival. The Gaza Strip, a stronghold of Hamas, Israel's most persistent and violent enemy, is a source of terrorists who harbor hatred not only for Israelis but also for Americans. These individuals are being openly invited into the nation without any public plans to ensure that terrorists are not among those receiving this free pass. The allocation of this money, done through an executive order without consulting Congress or the American people, raises concerns about the purpose of the expenditure, especially given the President's track record regarding the Muslim world and his stance on illegal immigrants already in the country. In American politics, a psychological divide-and-conquer strategy, known as millets, is used to gain governmental power by favoring certain minority groups, including the Palestinians, and aligning them politically with other groups like Mexican illegals to secure voting blocs for the Democrats.
The Illegals' Cost
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Illegals are streaming across the border in unprecedented numbers, making an accurate count nearly impossible. Estimates range from twelve million to twenty million currently residing in the United States, though all agree the financial burden on states like California, Arizona, and New Mexico is immense. Arizona recently passed a law granting law enforcement broader authority to detain and deport suspected illegals, driven by the economic devastation and high felony arrest rates associated with this influx, which are severely impacting the quality of life for Arizona citizens. The federal government has sued Arizona to revoke this law, claiming immigration control is a federal responsibility, despite doing little to halt the invasion themselves. Official figures reveal the staggering costs and criminal impact of illegal immigration. Twenty-nine percent of convicted felons in U.S. prisons are illegal aliens, costing $1.6 billion annually. High percentages of murder warrants, burglaries, and stolen car incidents in border states are attributed to illegals, despite them comprising only six percent of the population. Additionally, $190 billion is spent yearly on welfare and social services for illegals, with significant costs for education, food stamps, Medicaid, and hospital care, including $109 billion due to bankruptcies from free care under the EMOTLA Act. In 2005, 380,000 anchor babies were born to illegals, with estimates rising to 400,000 by 2009, and ninety-seven percent of associated family costs are borne by American citizens. State administrations are vocal about these burdens, yet federal response remains inadequate, suggesting hidden agendas involving constituency expansion and a potential North American Union.
Why Liberals Love Illegals (Part Two)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Liberals do not genuinely care for illegal immigrants as individuals or desire them as neighbors, nor do they aim to improve their circumstances out of altruism. Their primary motivation is power—political power to maintain office through a strategy reminiscent of ancient practices, focusing on minorities to create a coalition of block-voting groups. Illegal immigrants represent a crucial potential voting bloc, largely unaware of American history or the American way of life, desiring economic benefits without a true wish to assimilate. They remain a separate entity within the nation, often not even speaking the same language, and are mere pawns in a vast political and economic game. Those in power increasingly recognize the need for this voting bloc as other citizens begin to notice something is fundamentally wrong. The President's responsibility is to defend citizens, yet there is alignment with foreign leaders over national interests, as seen in the response to Arizona's defensive measures against illegal border crossings. Amnesty before 2012 appears to be on the agenda, reflecting a refusal to address the issue decisively, contrary to what common sense and historical precedent might suggest.
